Pakistan Auto show begins from 11th

LAHORE - Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) is holding a Pakistan Auto Show 2013 at the Expo Centre, Karachi, from January 11 to 13, which will showcase the achievements of Pakistan’s automotive industry and auto parts manufacturing sectors.
“This mega event will be visited by a large number of visitors and buyers from around the world, while over 150 multinational and national companies will display their products at the exhibition,” said PAAPAM Chairman, Munir Bana.
He said that this Pakistan Auto Show would be a thoroughfare of the true engineering and manufacturing diversity of Pakistani companies, thus providing an opportunity to forge new alliances and business ventures. He also called upon the government to play a part in organising such mega exhibitions, adding that this show has been financed wholly by PAAPAM and the automobile industry themselves.
The Chairman of PAAPAM strongly urged the government to ensure adequate and exclusive export promotions for the engineering sector.
“We expect that the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) would support our initiatives, both locally and abroad, as these efforts are geared towards our national interest, with the aim of promoting exports and introducing new technologies,” Bana said.
In Pakistan, the local industry assembles cars, motorcycles, tractors and heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses and also hosts major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Toyota, Honda, Suzuki and Massey Ferguson.
PAAPAM vice chairman Usman Malik added that Germany, with the collaboration of its government agencies, holds the world’s largest auto exhibition every year. In this exhibition, only a dozen companies participate from Pakistan, while hundreds of firms display their products from our neighbouring countries. Malik further said that with the steady growth in the automotive parts manufacturing industry in the region, PAPS 2013 plays a crucial role in the economic development of Pakistan’s automobile-related market, both locally and internationally. The show will be a perfect place to approach a potential buyer and meet existing customers, he underlined.

Pathetic Quality Cars Show as usual. Cars like Suzuki Alto, Mehran, Cultus, Corolla and Honda (Pakistani Made Junk Cars) either 99 model or 2012. Even 2012 model Cars having more than hundered issues. Darwazay band karo tu har dawrazay kay alignment he apni jaga pe nahe bhaeeti na he koi finishing hey .... and cost you 15 - 20,000,00. Better to go for 99 model USED IMPORTED Car rather then buying Pakistani Junk. loot maar Suzuki, Honda, Toyota spends $$ simply Bhata > Govt khelati hey just because to add more restriction on imported cars and also not allow any brand in Pakistan.

Vitz & Passo jisdin say aye hain usdin say is Corolla-Kachra, Honda-phatkari, Cultus-teendabay Car ke ***** pari hey!

.....strange...Suzuki & Honda in India are known for their 'Good Quality' cars and they are best in customer care etc...
How can they be so different in pakstan? They have reputation, image to defend/gaurd.

hmm rite. i think its bout the value of pakistani rupee vs economies of scale and scope. for 5 lac in india we get best aminity car worth 6 lac due to localised manufacturing and improved Supply Chain.

Its totally the other way round in Pakistan.

as per my understanding, its utmost irrefutable for Pakistan to open to Indian market. If for any case it doesnt happen its only Pakistan that is at a loss.

You guyz deserve Alto 800 than any Mehran Alto. Believe me the latter is costlier than former and much less in asthetics, tech and comfort

Pakistan can a do a lot better than what it is doing right now in automobile sector. The industry must be manufacturing based and export oriented. But right now we are happy just being assemblers and calling this assemblers mafia and industry is a big joke.

Not true. In Canada you can buy a brand new Hyundai with all modern technology and safety features for 9000 CND. In Pakistan, a 30 year old piece of junk that doesn't even have seat belts and still using a carberater engine costs 5000 CND. Pakistani auto industry is rotten to the core

May be because of economy of scale. You cant import (duty high duty) and smaller market will mean everything will be costlier (or less feature at same price point).
