ISLAMABAD: Pakistan army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has called for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute+ through political and diplomatic means, a stance divergent from the approach the country's army has employed so far.

Bajwa's statement at his annual 'defence day' speech this week comes two days after Pakistan foreign minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif admitted for the first time that internationally proscribed terrorist organisations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba andJaish-e-Muhammad were operating from within the country.Without naming India but referring to it as a "neighbouring country", Bajwa said, "We did not bring nuclear weapons to South Asia. And even now these weapons are simply a guarantee of peace in answer to a neighbouring country which is high on power. It is this country which has brought unconventional war to the South Asian region."
The General said, "We have paid the price for the wars started by super powers, in the form of terrorism, extremism and economic loss. We are abiding by our policy that we will not allow our soil to be used against any country, and expect the same of other countries." The Pakistan military leadership's change of approach gains significance in light of a consolidated global fight against terrorism. Pakistan has recently come under fire from all quarters, including the US, for harbouring terrorists.


Emphasising that peace is essential for prosperity, Bajwa added, "The welfare of millions of people of these two countries is linked with permanent peace. Instead of insulting Pakistan and using force against Kashmiris, it is in India's favour to seek resolution of the dispute through diplomatic and political means ."

Not a new thing, a 70 year old stance of Pakistan. But Pakistan also know one cant clap with one hand. India always avoiding the table talk even UN resolutions on Kashmir.

the resolution with content have been discussed here many times, it ask both Pakistani and Bharatis to keep minimum force for law and order and help UN appointed admin in conducting Plebiscite. @Azlan Haider

Does saudi arabia go around to India whether their arabian holy cities belong to india?

Just use the nukes already

The british already made it clear.

Hindustan is India.

Hindu means hinduism.

The areas with no hindus means belong to pakistan.

You cant find a single credible source to prove you false claim. Bellow are some credible sources about the status of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

In the second step, India was asked to progressively reduce its forces to the minimum level required for law and order. In the third step, India was asked to appoint a plebiscite administrator nominated by the United Nations who would conduct a free and impartial plebiscite.

lolz from your own post, first step is, complete withdrawal of Pakistani citizens from Kashmir. Till that happens, India is not bound to do anything on it.

lolz from your own post, first step is, complete withdrawal of Pakistani citizens from Kashmir. Till that happens, India is not bound to do anything on it.

In Pakistan occupied parts of Kashmir there are no Kashmiris nationals AS They all have de facto accepted themselves as Pakistanis

There are no freedom movement in that part of Kashmir.

So to comply with UN resolution, Does Pakistan need to vacate everyone from there ? :o:
