Take my word for it. These Britain based Pakistanis seem to live in another world altogether. They won't be the ones suffering when the lawless areas come into Pakistan and those people become Pakistani citizens.

It would not end well for Pakistan's social stability or lawfullness. And the ones living in Pakistan would be bearing the brunt of it. Think of the period when the Afghans and Pashtuns from NWFP swamped Karachi.

First of all a lot of the area your proposing is controlled by the Taliban not the central government:

Taking this area would just be seen as Pakistan helping out its 'proxy' and more or less declaring war on Afghanistan.

Secondly, this area is in shambles. The amount of investment in infrastructure and administration would be too costly to outweigh any kind of benefits received.

Finally, such a move would just invite even more attacks from terrorism. There are too many groups and warlords operating in Afghanistan for Pakistani intelligence to monitor and control. Volatile groups like ISIS would use the instability to seep into Pakistan while the military is distracted.



I think a far better solution is to increase the armed drone inventory and give the go-ahead to do strikes in Afghanistan. Maybe we could strike groups like ISIS to gain legitimacy, and maybe we could request targets too politically risky for the Americans to strike so they would support our efforts.

Those talking about annex Afghania all are totally insane..That country is decades behind Pakistan which is the 5th Fastest growing economy and semi-industrialized.
Firstly Afghanistani territories are cursed ,They will turn Pakistan into a war-zone Just like they affected us after 9/11

demarcate the original border line of 1893,It will provide all the necessary Geographical advantages to Pakistan army and border forces like FC to protect it.
You can immediately recruit local people of all ages between 18-70 year old with salaries no less than 20 thousand and give them the task to protect the border.

1. Make the border permanent and make them Pakistani citizens.
2. Fence the goddamned border and place 1 kilometer extend of mines all along the border then continue beyond to Iran.
3. Last but not least ,This terrorism isn't going to go anywhere unless we take care of our people ,That is improving the socio-economic aspects of affected people by providing them socialist style free education.
4. The A level students in Pakistan get to apply in ivy league or MIT while the poorest is going to the worst education system,Who is going to take care of our enormous class divide?

I understand the proportion of Pakistanis in terrorist activities inside Pakistan is very low ,But we must understand the psyche of Afghans ,There is a huge difference between the sense of purpose inside Afghanistan and Pakistan,That is the reason why Pakistan is not so hugely effected by terrorism ,thanks to the nature of our people.
6. Annex the wakhan corridor if you want ,The population there is very low ,Might be possible to integrate them into Pakistan or just buy 2/3rds of it ,Which is unpopulated just like USA brought Alaska ,It will serve the purpose of trade with central asia and will bring easy access of Gas lines to our northern areas and its people.

It's never too late. We don't have to send troops to get Afghanistan. They will come to us. Question is, whether we want them?

Iran would be the first to oppose it... there's no free walk anymore. Afghans are not going to sit ideal.. Full scale war would begin with India providing the Afgan Gov and Tribes with weapons.. there's going to be so much blood.. another instability in Pakistan which will not go well with the Chinese investments in Pakistan.

why do you think they would come and ask to join Pakistan. secondly why wouldn't Pakistan want merger of Afghanistan into it. Afghanistan is a massive country full of resources especially Lithium, and the people are same as what are found in Pakistan.

Give Balochistan Independence(plebiscite), give FATA region till Attock to Afghanistan(plebiscite), Give Karachi as separate state to Mujahirs(after all they created Pakistan), ... Then Punjabis can finally concentrate on ancestral Profession "Farming". Farming is a noble Profession. You can lead a peaceful and simple life with normal blood pressure. This a way better solution than invading Afghanistan.

We should first start off by cleaning Ganges so it could accommodate more bodies and then do the noble cause of putting a valve to the menace of human population.

The indian military CANNOT do anything to Pakistan any longer. The evidence is all there. Which is why india was powerless to attack Pakistan after mumbai 2008 even though you are more than 7x bigger than us and have abundant access to the world's most advanced weapons systems whilst we are denied this privilege

Think you are wrong here. Fact is that the Afghans want to be a part of Pakistan themselves. They want what we have. That's why there 10 million official & unofficial Afghans residing in Pakistan with many more wanting to come in. That is why they are outraged and squirm when we close the borders or try to deport them. Had it not been for Nato backing of the Afghan government than this would probably have happened some time ago.
