Are you willing, Jana, to go through the article and pick out the inaccuracies and misrepresentations within? You aren't, are you?

Personally i feel as always like urdu journalists he is confusing many things, different issues to make a case for proving Pakistan might be another Egypt or Tunisia . some points he mentioned are right viz a viz frustration of people but again we are not Egypt for sure.

What is going on in Egypt is NOT revolution neither any is going to take place in Pakistan

I apologize for snapping at you. I don't know anything about urdu journalists but I do agree with the rest of what you say.

It is a revolt, soon to be a revolution, perhaps. Mubarak has suppressed the democrats for years while giving the Muslim Brotherhood comparatively free reign to use as a club against the West: "See? It's either them or me!" It worked for years.

As Cloaked Vessel points out, tribalism is much smaller in Egypt than in Pakistan. You're talking about one of the oldest nationalisms on the planet vs. one of the youngest. So ideology and nationalism are much more important motivators to Egyptians than to Pakistanis - and the "Free Officers" no longer holds much appeal for Egyptians. They are ready for something different - but Egyptians are still trying to figure out what that will be.

Agreed but the following statements in the article are more closer to reality than fiction.

One fires bullets and bombs in the name of democracy while the other does suicide bombings in the name of religion.
The people of Pakistan are also stuck between these Liberal Fascist and religious fanatics but now there patience seems seen running out.

I dont know why it should be taken as revolution in the making which in my personal view is NOT at all because Revolution always need one set ideology/one point agenda followed or demanded by all whereas what we are seeing in Egypt is an Uprising. an uprising is always against individuals or personalities. The Egyptian uprising is NOwhere near French Revolution or even that of Iranian.

I say we here in Pakistan had been having such uprisings against individuals the example in sight that of one against Ayub Khan when there was a Sugar and other crisis similarly one was against even against Bhutto and the recent example is that of Lawyers' movement against Musharraf .

When ever dictators go down they use all these cheap tactics we have seen examples all over the world. All this killing and blood shed while all of know that everyone will be back to there usual life after a few weeks.

This could have been more civilized.

Not just when they "go down", but throughout their reign! Furthermore, some of the tweets I've read emphasize the great influence Egyptian state TV still has over the people. I wouldn't be surprised if this lie poisons Egyptians' attitudes towards Pakistanis for years after Mubarak is gone.

CNN aired a Egyptian Sate TV journalist that refused to be a part of the state propaganda and left her job.
