Pakistan and China Signed contract for Pakistan's Remote Sensing Satellite Project to be commissioned in 2018. This project will take Pakistan China friendship from the heights of Himalayas to stars. The government is making Pakistan self reliant in space technology as its importance grows in development field. Proposed to Chinese Space Agency to fly one Pakistani astronaut along with Chinese astronauts in a Chinese manned spaceship in 2017.

. . .
I think Pakistan should send All politicians to space so that we may live in peace at our home land..
Sending people to the space is very expensive and difficult. If you want to punish them, send them to some island as GB did with Australia (sent all its criminals, that's why they still have those genes :))

Does anybody have more information with regards to that?

Great news Pakistan should use this satellite for military purposes as well.

. .
Could they put in a SAR in it and let it double as a IMINT satellite?

I don't think such information will be "released". Let's not forget Pakistan wants a spy sat capability real badly.
Theoretically it's possible, right? But yes, no point in telling anyone we have X capability in Y satellite, lest someone goes around targeting that satellite.

In addition to an ISR satellite, I think SATCOM is also worth exploring. With SATCOM, we can data-link a large number of our assets, and that too across a larger area (e.g. our maritime EEZ).

SATCOM satellite is already being worked upon. I have had multiple sources corroborate this.
