What's new

Pakistan also deploying drones on IB with Afghanistan

It's a quad copter, how surveillance can be done by that. It's flight time is roughly half an hour.
If you have lots of them especially with lots of extra batteries, then all you need is to keep one in the sky and camera on this thingy is good enough for monitoring the movement in the day. If some are lost, it is not that much of a worry, however should it be paired with some professional military UAVs with night vision and other advanced capabilities and long endurance.

Along with fencing, border patrols, this will be a great device!
It will reduce helicopter surveillance hence reducing costs!

If there is going to be any incursions or attacks by militant groups, it will most likely happen at night; can these drones be visually reliable at night?

Pakistan is developing its own MALE UAV. Would be great to see it being used here eventually
Does anyone know if Pak has SAT link capability to be able to operate these drones from extended ranges?

It can be further reduced by having more sensors on the ground thus reducing the need of drone surveillance...IR sensors, motion sensors, cameras, etc.

I think @DESERT FIGHTER has the answer.
