Pakistan Air Force – by International Experts

A PAF pilot in Syria on a training mission happened to be there when the war with Israel broke out a few decades ago. He got into one of the jet on his Syrian students' insistence and shot down an Israel Air Force jet. The Israeli were used to facing off against Arab pilots, who weren't always the best trained in the world. Our PAF hero visited the downed Israeli pilot (captured as a POW) in a Syrian hospital to pay his respects!

We have proven in the past our pilots are better than the Israelis.
What was the point of engaging the Israelis over Golan and Jordan?

The Israeli were used to facing off against Arab pilots,
That not entirely true. The issue was the MiGs and their loiter time. They had to land for a refuel every 45 minutes and this was the time when the lurking Israeli would hit em

Prolly phantoms?

Quite right, though not many AF pilot / flying officer training schools in the Arab world have a good reputation.
