Pakistan Aeronautical Complex to joint-manufacture 48 Wing Loong II UCAV

. .
Just remembered there was a deal with Havelsan to jointly develop drones few months ago. So until that materialises, these drones will do!

what kind of drones?
Havelsan is helping PAC with developing mission computers, GCS and weapon computers for UAVs. This is probably in reference with Project Azm. As for this news (Wing Loong II), it hasn't been verified yet.

It could be a mix as well. E.g. build a new drone model based on the Wing Loong II, Havelsan technology and local systems.
thats how it works.

They are to jointly produce 48 systems so it could be 24 for each party or something like that.
should be all in for PAF.

Does Pak have the satellite capability in place to operate these at long ranges? Or is it being worked on?

Also I'm just curious why Pak chose Wing Loong II compared to something like CH5. I thought CH5 was better in terms of range/endurance...is it due to the cost factor?
cause Wing loong uses turboprop engine which is.better than CH5's piston engine.

how we will control it? by satellite? do we have GPS ones (borrowed or can be borrowed) to take out s400 by long range bombs/missiles?

If you are placing the drone to take out S-400 then you will be at mistake a bit my friend. With that said it is not a statement that your cannot take out S-400. Yes S-400 can be shot down but not with a single weapon instead with a strategy.
Now how to develop a strategy to shoot down S-400. In this act pan needs help from China because they have the system.
S-400 has a limitation and that limitation is its pay load of 72 missiles after that it takes few minutes to reload the system. I remember here not all 72 missiles will be guarding one spot rather they will be guarding different spots. This S-400 only gives the area being targeted few minutes to be prepared for an attack.

For example usually S-400 one system has 4 launchers which make it 16 missiles of different roles loaded at one time.

If you fire a missile at the system it will launch the missile to intercept it. It after each launcher uses all it missiles they are reloaded so this means you fire sixteen conventional missiles and 17 missile will kill the system. The same thing that happened in Syria with pantsir s1 system. Israel shot down the system once it was out of ammo that is the time the system is vulnerable.

Now in case of the Chinese drone it has very large pay load and if 4 drones get with in firing range of one system their pay load over whelme the system and destroy it. This is a good strategy by Pakistan to get drones shot down first and the take out the system in reloading time with stand off weapons. Pakistan just wasted Indian $5 billion with few million.

@BHarwana
thank you for your precious time... I asked same question before.. I hope our military will counter soon..
i was hoping
1. if possible, jamming s400 radars like isrealis did (for sure with US help), they jammed russian origin radars in syria in 2007 attack (bcz they know codes of russian radars) and recetnly when they attacked syria entering briefly from turkish airspace. China may help as they have s400 (their s400 may be different though)
2. weapons like jsow, which radar signatures/speed etc is like a plane so SAMs are wasted on it..
3. ISI making a dedicated unit to identity the radar operators and take them out near war ....

all may be child fantasy as but "no dream is too big and no dreamer is small"
