But this also was a huge screw-up by our Foreign Office and protocol breach as US Head of state is suppose to congratulate the elected Pakistan PM, not the lower State Dept. official. Someone in Foreign Office who diverted the call to the PM, should be named and fired tomorrow for this fu*k up. IT is a known fact this US Administration will be propagandist and difficult. IF anyone this guy should've interacted with the Foreign Minister wherever he is.
I take your point Sir!. However, I do think that you are a over reacting on the point regarding the foreign office (
in red font above).
Please Try Looking At The Matter Like This:
IK has taken calls from many international dignitaries and an ex-cricketer, Sidhu, attended his oath taking.
Now! in this background, when he (or the foreign office) was informed the US Sec. of State would like to talk to the new PM of Pakistan to wish him, there was no sense to say NO! -- Correct?
However, knowing the U.S., it may be equally true that Pompeo had a plan up his sleeve; that is, to mock the new PM of Pakistan after the telephone call. This was to be done by releasing a statement and adding in the statement that was never discussed.
Here! the Pakistan Foreign Office was ready and gave it back to the U.S. right between the eyes (where they do like to have).
Actually! a statement from an officer in FO of Pakistan, and not from the foreign minister, is another humiliation U.S. has suffered.
U.S. is now trying to cover its arse, that has been exposed by the statement from Dr Faisal. The video clip posted by
@BHarwana shows how the U.S. spokeswoman was hounded and how desperately
she tried to defend.
