What's new

Pakistan accuses US State Department of lying.

Bro,

This is not a new slogan! Pervez Musharraf said the same thing.

Pakistan has to work with big players of the world, if it is to thrive. Picking sides will not help.

If US had struck DPRK, China wouldn't have lost much because its people and infrastructure weren't on the line. Modern-era superpowers fight COLD WARS in which they pit other countries against each other. The other countries suffer badly whereas the string-pullers enjoy the spectacle at arms length.

This reality dawned on DRPK, and it yielded.

Well, they got the message.

What happens next, is important.
Well if you ask me, these few things should happen next.

1) Kick these aholes (Afghan government and Taliban) to come to negotiating table. Because bigger threat aka ISIS is making ours and their life's difficult. USA is pressing wrong nation. Actually they should be pushing and pressurizing Afghan government to come to senses.
2)Afghan government and Trump administration should immediately and strictly make sure that Afghan soil is not used by Indian agencies like RAW. Because if this issue is not tackled Pakistani government will never accept any solution .
3) All the neighboring nations should immediately eradicate the threat of Isis in Kunar province.
4) USA should join peace initiative lead by Russia. As this is the first time Taliban are also sending delegation maybe who knows ice can be broken here.

Idea is to make Pakistan a prosperous nation. IK understand this, and he is strictly anti-war, but the world isn't.

Not sure how we will sort out our issues with US.

It is easy to talk tough on a forum but the world is unforgiving.

U.S. will understand, when we "act" in a way to make them "understand" --- if we continue to give them the message that they can take us for a ride, they will do so.

Standing up to U.S. does not mean going to war with U.S.

U.S. needs to be told that they have a partner (Pakistan) if they (U.S.) want to move towards peace.
This needs to be said repeatedly - and, based on this, trust needs to be built.

U.S. needs to be told that it is in their interest that the war in Afghanistan comes to an end --- with a dignified exit arranged for U.S.

This is a sound interpretation. I agree with this.

Pakistan is not choosing sides.

Agreed.

Though Pakistan is already in the midst of an undeclared economic war. Pakistan has no option but to develop other markets for its goods. Expect more FTAs.

This reality dawned on DRPK, and it yielded.

Giving into a blackmail doesn't mean it will stop. It will continue. Look at Iran.

U. S. has been informed of this repeatedly. The cast of characters running the show (not Trump) aren't interested in peace.

You must be licking Pompous *** at that time to have heard that, did you like what he ate previous night?

Actually Pakistani twitter handle is lying.
There is a mention of terror emanating from Pakistan in the phone call.
Pakistanis are confusing with the tone us state department conveyed the message to act decesicely against all terrorists operating from Pakistan .

The message was clear from the US. But your govt. is assuming it as a friendly tone.

.
.
Actually Pakistan must cancel that trip until and unless US Foreign office withdraws that statement and apologizes for lying.

If they are lying about a phone conversation what's the guarantee that they won't lie about other things in the meeting. It's time to put them in their place. We will not get anything out of these meetings.

There is no need to meet these two-faced lying retarded son of whores.

Really sets the tone for the upcoming visit.

.
Rofl the first call by American govt. official which is suppose to be exchanging courtesies. A really stupid start if Pompeo has said something like that.
Where is the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Quraishi? I saw him boasting infront of media just few hours back. Looks like he is still missing in action when the PM Office is dealing with it alone.

Hope Imran deals with this grave error by Foreign Office putting the PM in contact with Secy. of State when his job is to engage with his counterpart, the Foreign Minister who is still absent from the scene.

The response by Foreign Office is commendable within an hour of US State Dept. release they shot back the rebuttal. Its a first, before Foreign Office used to stay silent given the outrageous statements that came from American media and govt..
This response will check American behaviour.
PAkistan State establishment should avoid the PM engagement with a US official for now.
why you guys are acting like an idiot even modi and natenyaho talks with secretary of the state i cannot post links here but check out on youtube secretary of the state meeting with modi and natenyaho

A simple way to put an end to this is for the FO to say something along these lines: "we understand the need for certain elements to play to the gallery in the US but during the conversation PM Imran Khan had with mr. pompeo it was stressed and agreed upon to put an end to terrorists operating from afg which are a threat to Pakistan and the world." end of story. No need to release a transcript to embarrass them.

.
That's fine. Had the press statement said explicitly that our FO lied, then there's a case of further action.

A neutral observer ... Do you think UN will pass a resolution against Pakistan if we don't go all out for US state department?

USA tested the waters and got humiliated. So called neutral observers are not fools as you think they are.

A neutral observer would see a statement, a rebuttal which was a pretty blunt call of a lie, and a mild statement to stick with their version of the story. I guess one could call that the FO came out ahead. But I would be concerned about why and how the FO and IK were not prepared for such an exercise of playing to the gallery at the state dept briefing.

.
I have my sources who work in media, Pakistanis are confusing with the tone that US set during the call.
Surely you have source to even usa state department. You can even listens into calls us made to other countries.
Oh l forgot, usa must have asked Modi ji and after taking his permission, has called Pakistan.
Right?
