Pakistan abolishes on-arrival visa for Afghan nationals

Excellent. No once the border fencing is complete it will help us reduce the numbers of Afghans pouring in to Pakistan significantly.

"Smart move" "Excellent move" "Best news ever" - Did anyone bother to consider the impact of this new rule on Afghan-Pakistan trade?

The Afghans now have that Indian-run port in Iran to export their goods out of the region instead of routing through Pakistan to Karachi. This rule just made that port much more competitive. If it sticks, its capacity will likely be expanded. Maybe even the Chinese, not just the Indians, will lend a hand in the financing - it's the Chinese, after all, who want the CPAC connection between the two.

So Pakistan will lose out the economic benefit of the transit trade as well as earn further enmity from Afghans. And thus Pakistan's begging bowl as it pleads foreigners for support grows larger rather than shrink...

Pakistan had an open border policy with Afghanistan and look how they took advantage. Illegals, criminals, drugs and terrorism followed. Its not worth the societal impact. Afghans can be traded with from a distance but they are a crude vulgar community with not many human qualitities to offer. If this was the 16th century they would have been ethnically cleansed by now. Feral race.

Even so, is this an appropriate solution? How many Afghans can afford the time and money to travel to a Pakistani consulate for a visa application? If visa-on-arrival doesn't allow sufficient security checks then why not allow them to apply at designated border crossings, process the applications in Pakistan, and let them return to pick up the processed paperwork later?

I cannot endorse this statement, nor think it necessary to wave about here.

Why don't you take some Afghans to Israel?

A bonus would be to convert them to Judaism and increase your decreasing population levels. We will provide you a couple million Afghans. Deal?

LOL look at this guy. He just crawled under a stone after 15 years. Dude, there is nothing that Afghanistan can possibly offer to Pakistan. Afghanistan only takes. It doesn't give.
