Pak to start production of high tech Al-Khalid 2 tank

I am enlightened.

GPS + radio communications equals avionics. Or is it AESA radar on tanks? IFF perhaps? Maybe we are looking at radar detection warnings? Please ignore my own involvement in avionics while replying.

Avionics is electronics incorporated with any type of targeting system It could be RADAR, IR, Optic system. Avionics is a bigger term than just RADAR and it is a bigger term than just used for aviation. It includes guidence systems which most tanks have It includes communication systems which most tanks have, It includes navigation systems which most tanks have. It includes targeting systems which most tanks have.

Side Note don't troll this discussion is about AK-2 not Avionics.

I asked a question about your rather unusual choice of word, that does not quite fit in, even with the formal definition that might have helped you. Quite clearly, you have no clue. However, since @alimobin memon has already posted a reasonable answer, that resolves the issue, as far as I am concerned.

.
Avionics wise??? The Flying Tank was the Mil attack helicopter.

Modern battle Tanks employ lot of electronic gadgets such as ground to airborne radio link, enhanced GPS (location reporting), tank’s internal monitoring computer which manages the engine and tells you which part is faulty and laser aiming device etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come up with a helmet mounted gun sight for the future MBT. Perhaps Hon Alimobin memon is referring to electronic devices used in the MBT as 'Avionics'.

However, strictly speaking ‘Avionics’ is the name given to the Aviation Electronics and only used when referring to the computers, auto pilot, radar & communication systems etc of the aircraft.

.
Then you are well ahead of me; I cannot understand how avionics would come into a tank.

Avionics are the electronic systems used on aircraft, artificial satellites, and spacecraft. Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions.

Do feel free to explain to me what is the role that avionics plays in an MBT.

He mixed up vehicle electronics with avionics I guess. :-)

Pakistan will produce AL-Khalid 1 till 2023 that means they will design AL-Khalid for 4 years. Also the recent visit to poland should also be kept in mind and Turkish assets should also be analyzed. Plus the recent statement of Pakistan Turkey and Azerbaijan recently announcing joint cooperation in Military production should also be viewed in this relation.
There was a deal signed for 200 engines between Ukraine & Pakistan possibly for Al Khalid 1 so it means HIT will take 7 years to produce 200 Al Khalid 1 considering the fact that the production was started in 2016 and will end in 2023. This report also states that about 600 Al khalid tanks are in service, is it true?

Yes it is true and Production of AL-Khalid 2 will start before 2023 it will roll out some where in 2021 or 2022.

No just came across this info. There are very less details on AL-Khalid as well no information on any specs till now. All procurement is going in secrecy only info is revealed when the product is in hand.

No order for engines was placed, MoU was signed which includes purchase of 200 engines in the future (probably the 6TD-3 for AK-2).

I am not. I would like to know what these tanks are for? It can't be India because on the conventional battlefield India already has the ability to "mulch" Pak forces simply through overwhelming numbers. The only thing holding India back from teaching Pakistan a lesson is the nuclear shield and the very real danger of India/Pak war going nuclear.

Given this fact this money on "toys" is waste. A criminal waste of resources.

so who put you in think tank???

those overwhelming numbers are mostly t 72 with 1000 or so t 90 facing 600 alkhalids and unknown number al zarar....

kindly watch some of 1000s of vidoes out of Syria to see what happens to t 72 when it faces armed civilians let alone an army

defence is a corner stone of a nation as much as education....

you don't want to be a nation of well educated eunichs with excellent health system???? do you???

only concern is why will it take 4 years from now to start production.. HIT needs to up a notch a bit

. .
Certainly not a airhead like you. I don;t have time to fight your idiocy right now but when I get time later I will give you a riposte.

Like a different kind of air head or head in $$$ i guess...who think investing in cutting edge domestic defence is waste of precious resources

Donut forget your medicine before fighting with me or any other idiot

My concern still is delays slow production and development of key projects especially by HIT

Precious resources and voters of a certain party who thinks k tank bannay say taraqee nahin hoti can shove their ideas

I did. But the disease you suffer from is beyond any medication. Sorry. It's called retardness. It has no cure but I will try anyway.

I already know that. Right now despite having old junk India dare not attack. The reason is this.

No amount of tanks, even the latest 1,000s of Armata can match the dissuasive effect of nuclear missiles. Pakistan's primary and guarantor are the nuclear strike forces. Assuming Indians launch a massive armoured attack. How is Pakistan going to stop it? Theatre nuclear missiles like Nasr or Raad.
