You would think China would take Pakistan's security situation in to consideration before investing billions of dollars, or least have the confidence that Pakistan can deal with the situation. All these operations Pakistan is undertaking to eliminate terrorism is geared towards creating an environment where China's investments can thrive. I will concede the point that such attacks can continue, but this is a risk China is willing to take.
Yes China would have factored the risk, but China never expected such a fearless India. Every passing month, India is becoming stronger, be it FDI, world support or border clashes. Before Modi every Gov.t has always asked America & Russia to intervene to defuse tensions with China. We were defensive, so China had never considered India as a threat. They had thought as long as they have 2 front attack fear neither they will dare to attack Pakistan nor China & the continuous nuclear black mail of Pakistan always kept India powerless, but you can see the offensive approach of India on both fronts, this was never ever expected by China. So they never perceived any stumbling block in their venture when CPEC started, but things have changed in last 3 years. Even Pakistan never expected such a fearless & offensive India. Even nuclear blackmails are not working.
I don't see peace between India and Pakistan anytime soon. Nor do I see any trading relationship. The bitterness between the two countries is real and runs deep.
True. But India is in a better position than Pakistan economically, militarily & diplomatically in the world. So India won't bend. I am not saying because I am an Indian. I am saying considering all factors. At-least India's economy is still holding & not going down yet, but Pakistan's is. And with everybody trying to strangle China, it's difficult to say in few years China can even continue & complete these projects
Pakistan always finds a way - it will this time too. Let's be honest - India, USA, Pakistan, China, Russia - all are using Afghanistan as some weird chessboard. Ideally, they should all work toward improving Afghanistan than playing their own interests there. But who will take the first step and bell the cat?
Good for Pakistan if it finds a way out. The world & politics is a chessboard. A layman like you or me can't change it. Even if Pakistan build a wall they can reduce infiltration but can't stop terror from Afghanistan, they will find some other way. As long as these terrorists are there available for money, nobody can change or stop terror. Yes, If you have a strong economy, you can to a large extent control lot of things. But as of now both Afghanistan & Pakistan is dependent countries. So what's the easy way out, go to the root of the problems & fix the root cause. Ask - Why is the tension, How did it start, where did it start, when did it start. & then address from there.
My posts are only to share my views, so people wake up & act rather than waste time here exchanging insults & hatreds. In the present developments, Pakistan is sure in a very vulnerable situation not India, they have to see what definite action which will bring peace & prosperity in the region.
