Pak starves but PM’s brother Nawaz Sharif rides in Bentley to Louis Vuitton store in UK | Viral

I don’t doubt PMLN will be back in some form in 2028. It’s a cycle. Hopefully the fruits of the PTI instituted reforms will bear fruit and the nation as a whole will be better off for it. The PTI can then sit out that 5 year term and come back in 2033.

PTI may not survive as a party in the long term, if it doesn’t face the inevitable passing of IK. This is why they will have to plan for succession if elected as well. (In fact it would be better if IK won, and publicly stated he wasn’t going to run in 2028, so that he can hopefully oversee the succession himself)

If the election of PTI changes all the other parties for the better, the struggle for good governance and competence will have won out.
Your assessment is based upon on what?

My assessment is based upon 40 years history

PMLN was as unpopular as this in 1998, alternative like today existed including PTI yet it CAME BACK into power

Hence using logical deductions there is 100% probability it will happen again as it has happened 5x before

Remember even in 2022 just few months ago PMLN was supposed to win but they didn't do elections and inflation got uncontrolled

I agree, that is how people should show they’re angry, at the ballot box. I sense that is why the elections are being delayed because the PML-N can read the writing on the wall and know they are about to be wiped out.

In the US alot changed on the ground when the parties knew it was about getting out the vote. Turnout makes the difference.

In Pakistan, from what I have heard, people traditionally vote for the same person as whom their elders have been telling them to vote for. The youth in Pakistan is a massive, and I hope the PTI has a strategy to appeal to the elders to vote PTI or at least let their youth vote their choice, because it is the future of the youth most at stake.

Secondly, the PTI needs a facts and figures plan for economic reform and job creation. For far too long politicians have asked for people to sacrifice in hopes of a brighter day. If PTI plans the same it needs to line up FDI and signed contracts for investments should they return to power.

Third, the myth of Nawaz as the industrialist needs to be broken with a documentary and expose of how he made his wealth and what sweetheart deals he got that helped him get where he has gotten.

Finally for the “Biryani crowd”; PTI needs to line up meals to outcompete and outspend the PML-N politicians that buy votes with food. Fight food with food. A lot of elections campaigns around the world come down to who outspends the other guy. If this is the currency and state of Pakistani elections, so be it, PTI will have to be prepared to play this game as well.

PTI is the only viable opposition. Everyone was clubbed together in the PDM. Many young voters are in their formative years of forging their political leaning.

If in the next 5 years, young people get a taste decent services, and it’s taken away the pendulum will swing back. So, we can’t predict what will happen in 2028. It comes down to how well PTI does and how much of a backlash they will face for their policies. If PML is back in 2028 and go back to worse management then 2023-2028, the pendulum could swing back (but granted not in as large as is expected at the moment).

The youth vote hasn’t been this galvanized since Bhutto in the 70s. Now it will come down to turnout and keeping them engaged through the next 5 and 10 years.

64 percent of the Pakistani population is under 30 and as neighboring countries are progressing, expectations are growing.

Competing in Biryani politics is part of a full spectrum strategy to appeal to that part of the electorate as well (if need be), although I agree this is a slippery and should be avoided if possible.

It’s akin to PTI dealing with the PML machine, akin to the mayor called “Boss Tweed” in New York history. So I hope PTI studies how boss tweed’s appeal was taken down to apply some lessons to their own strategies. Perhaps PTI should put out cartoons against PML on a semi-daily basis to point out PML and PPP’s failures.

Youth saw and loved IK in 1990s too but when they get married eat biryani there life change

PMLN is betting on that...and it's true your thought process changes from video games and jalsas to earning money

Hence why PMLN will never be perpetually defeated they will come back stronger 💪

Watching Pakistanis sharing sensationalist Indian news clips to further their own political agenda is shambolic to say the least.

The Hindustan Times is mocking Pakistan as a nation, not PDM/Nawaz Sharif/PMLN.

This is nothing to be proud about or smirking about.

Hindustan times has been running it's campaigns for too long. A couple of people on here were planning on tinkering with a few bots to fill the comments of this channel with psy op content....

Deranged sharif bootlicker, pmln came back to power not through the will of the people but the buying of mna’s by Zardari and ns with bags of cash, and Faujeets who wanted to safeguard their corruption…

Every single elections PMLN and PPP have contested, they have attempted to fix it with fake votes. Ever seen one of their gatherings? Hardly anyone there. They have no real support. They rule through fear and gangs. It's a f**king mafia. Just watch Godfather and you will get the jist.

The challenge is how do we make Pakistanis aware to this and self aware enough to have some pride and dignity so they are not taken for a ride. The educated, intelligent and awakened ones already know the reality of the situation but why aren't the others getting it? I just don't understand.

In the 90s the Sharifs bombed a cancer hospital to scare IK away from politics and the public did not react. It's been nearly 30 years since that and the country is on the brink of financial collapse. How many more lessons do they need before they wake up?

If it comes down to the economy, then if PTI does remarkable job with the economy, do you think that will change the calculations?

Pakistanis should get angry... but they are too tolerant for the wrong sort of things!

You can see can see that from this forum. Foreigners coming here with a free pass to insult us with derogatory language while we tolerate all of it.

No.
Since even the Chinese miracle took 20+ years to be visible

None has replicated that

Usually it will take decades of development

If people can't see sehat card and economic recovery & COVID management of IK

they can't see anything else

You raise some good points. Punjab assembly won by PMLN.

2008 - 148/371
2013 - 313/371
2018 - 164/371

If elections are to be held in 2023, PMLN won’t win even a 100, and that’s being optimistic.

Hard to predict 2028, 2033 elections but lets hope the people in Punjab province have come out of the Stockholm Syndrome and that the boomers generation pass by.
And true for all elections since 1983 in Punjab(except 2002 rigg elections)

Now may be you are right but it will still be a sizable number and I expect a100% chance of return in 2029 or even earlier (that is if establishment even allows PTI near the polls)

What is probably going to happen is Imran Khan will be disqualified and PMLN will be given bogus victory like in 2002-03
And a puppet govt for next 5-10 years

Very naughty headline by HT. But Bentley? Seriously... In these times ?

.
Wrong

People have voted for PMLN ticket ..not just based upon what their elders say

People love the idea "khata hey tu lagata be hey"

It's just like stock market where high valuation means everyone can get rich or pyramidal scheme where everyone thinks they can get rich untill it comes down crashing

I am 100% confident that even if PMLN loses they will be back in 5yrs.

What you are seeing today high inflation bankruptcy had happened in 1998 People distributed sweets, Imran Khan was also there..yet Nawaz sharif won again just 10 yrs later..

So I will be stunned if he doesn't win again in 2028 even if he loses now

Once should understand that only reason why GHQ initiated this change was because people wanted it too.

So don't blame GHQ for everything ultimately people like to vote for PMLN and no matter what people say I don't think this has changed for the good.
Sooner or later maryum will be back with a bang

Lol people also wanted American drones to murder our people too? They wanted our nations name dragged thru the mud?

GHQ are the biggest enemies to this country. They are sellouts.

And I say this as somebody who defended them for over half my life

Yes people wanted that too

Ask anyone what was the greatest era they will say 2015-2017 when we had the highest free money 💰💰💰 rolling into building urban Pakistan/mostly Punjab

Noone wanted to put vote those people who let drone run a mock..it was a "non issue"

Except for of course in KPK it was the only reason why people initially voted for IK
