PAK pilots on Sukhoi's

The demonstrator is a modification of twin seater F-15E, and we dont know the systems going in yet, the only modifications i know of are radar and countermeasures, No info on CIP, Sensor fusion etc . Raptor and JSFs are premier strike platforms they are still single seaters, even J-20 is a single seater......

Raptor and JSF2 are 2 piloted crafts.. where stealth and avionics is one pilot.. while other pilot works on monitoring and at time launching missile.. They dont have many missile..

Where as MKI can carry at most 14 missiles.. with 10 BVR's and 8 launched and target at the same time.. so an WSO make sense.. who will concentrate on targets while other one tries to evade and pilot incoming threats...

The first paragraph is a lame attempt at trying to avoid conceding a point..
Sensor Fusion(and other avionics).. and a pilot . two different things.. sensor fusion is to help the pilot make the decision faster.. increase his SA.
They assist the pilot in flying the jet.. the dont substitute for a pilot.. unless there is a smart AI developed that will fly the plane, launch, do maneuvers.. and know the difference between an unarmed civilian with a shovel and an insurgent with a RPG.. A pilot will be a pilot.
A Human.. flesh and blood.
The raptor needs only one of it for it to be operated successfully...so does the JSF.
The MKi needs two to reach its operating capability.

The Raptor carries its weapons internally.. which allows it to get right next to a MKI without either of the two pilots even realizing that its there...
and it will see the HUGE MKI way before they even become a threat.

If a raptor carries its external loadout of 8 AMRAAMS.. these coupled with the six in its bay give it 14 AMRAAMS.. plus the 2 Aim-9's.. thats 16 missiles.
of which 14 can be targeted and guided at the same time..

A better comparison is the F-15E to the MKI..
with similar avionics.. and capabilities sans maneuverability.

The recent exersize is not the first one..
and PAF pilots flying Chinese, Indonesian, British.. and Arab jets is not a new thing either..
Threat awareness.. is not a new trend for the PAF.

I agree with you, especially that Bold Part... MKI and F15 are comparable fighter aircraft, F22 is not in the same league.. Its superior.. Its Highly Unlikely (No impossible) to kill a raptor with any other existing (operational) fighters...

Till the PAk-FA.. or the FGFA arrive..
depending on their RCS reduction.. and AESA effectiveness.

I am not comparing MKI or Raptor ... i just intended to say the stealth and avionics in Raptor is itself equal to one human.. where it can peek in without any problem till a safe distance of detection i guess it is 20 KM when MKI starts detecting Raptor .. a huge advantage Raptor got for it to safely launch AMRAAM at 60 KM and avoid MKI totaly.. while in MKI the one pilot has to concentrate on maneuvering the missiles launched towards it.. while the WSO will concentrate on jamming and launching a response..

Which is why i said Raptor and JSF is a two piloted craft .. while one is the stealth and avionics itself...
and need for a 2 pilots in MKI...

Santro, while i do hope for a respectable match for F-22, yet most of the posters here recognize F-22 for only its dominant characteristic i.e. stealth. While it is, in itself is a marvel, yet F-22 can be amply described as a collection of marvels. from its radar to its kinetic performance, from its nose to its skin. It is a truly an aircraft which stands apart from the rest of the models. Even if it were not stealth, its attributes would have still earned it the most formidable aircraft in the aviation history. I could only laugh when people talked about Matching F-22, An F-22 pilot, in his interview once said about their engagement with 64th Agressor wing (one of the most skilled Flacon wings of USAF with 65th Agressor) at red flag ,"They came and got killed, they came again and got killed, and again, and again,.....they were so depressed that they never invited us for the excercises since then" and another one about F-15s. "its usually 1 on 4 and sometimes 1 on 8 and yet its not a fair fight". The benchmarks for F-22 are truly very very challanging. There is a famous saying about LMCO, " if a computer nerd at LM says it can be done while a well recognised scientist argues it can not be, the nerd is right"

I have been driving BMW 318i for the past several years. Just drove my friend's Ferrari 360 other day. Now i'm an expert of Ferrari! next time i'l beat him with my BMW if we ever race!!

It's not the same with aircraft mate. Understanding the capabilities of your opponent's aircraft will definitely give you an edge. But if we ever need it, I'm sure the Israelis wouldn't mind lending us a few F-16s to play around with eh. ;)

but by driving Ferrari "who has BMW 318i" can conclude the limitation of his BMW and try to improve in that areas so that he can beat Ferrari

just my 2 Paisas

So what was there response (PAF pilot's), Were the overwhelm by Su 30?? Coz I was when i saw these bird first... Its huge... and beautiful...
