The new equipment will allow pilots to maneuver in case of overload 9G and eject at an altitude of 23 km

Russian fifth generation fighter T-50 were unique protective gear, compensating pressure on the body during long pilot overload. Kit designed JSC "NPP" Star "is composed of two anti-g suits and compensation system pressure in the lungs can perform maneuvers with congestion 9G up to 30 seconds. In this case, eject from the machine will be at an altitude of 23 km.

As told to "Izvestia" deputy chief designer of the "Stars" Nicholas Dergunov pilots will defend two flight suit: antigravity PPK-7 and altitude compensating WCC-17. They are chosen before the flight, depending on the height - PEP-7 runs at an altitude of 12 thousand meters, and WCC-17 - up to 23 thousand

Both suits are connected to the machine pressure BP-17, which when overloaded cavity pumps air suits, as well as the pressure begins to supply oxygen to the breathing mask pilot.

As told to "Izvestia" chief specialist of "SPE" Star "Michael Angelica, the oxygen pressure in the mask during overload up to 6.7 atmospheres. In this pilot light inflated inside thus offset the external pressure on the thorax. In this case, on-board computer provides for overload and avoids the delay of reaction pressure compensation.

- This development - our know-how, no one in the world to develop such a system could not, - said Angelica.

Antigravity suits and high altitude - it suits of t ermostoykoy fabric with sewn-in cameras and handsets. When maneuvering through these tubes is supplied with air, which inflates the suit. The fabric compresses the body of the pilot and prevents the outflow of blood from the head. If this is not done, the pilot instantly lose consciousness.

According to the test pilot of the Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan, who first raised the T-50 in the air and it is now engaged in testing, the new super-maneuverability aircraft because the pilot would die without pressure compensation during turns and cornering.

- Overload 9G - this nine-fold increase your weight. When congestion occurs, the chest instantly compresses and very difficult to breathe. When it takes 2-3 seconds, still all right, but when 20-30 - survive without pressure compensation is not possible - said Bogdan "News".

In the pressure suit fabric is more dense, there is a special insulation, allowing the pilot to survive the loss of pressurization or ejection at an altitude of 23 km. To cool the body of the pilot altitude suit vest equipped with venting. But even with him in a suit is hot, so to fly at low altitude pilots prefer lightweight antigravity.

The air supply system and the automatic pressure control is mounted on the last three T-50 experienced. Suits now are factory tested and will soon be transferred to test pilots - Sergey Bogdan plans to try on your own copy as soon as next week.

Now the title of f-22 "highest flight ceiling fighter aircraft" goes to T-50 :D

. . . . .
Not sure but I think I have seen that flight suite before. One of my uncles used to fly F-104 back in the 60/70's, and I have seen something very similar (full body) flight suite at his place.... I maybe wrong though.

All fighter pilots use these or similar suits.....so whats your point?

Still dreaming of going after the SR71?

The same SR-71 that the Mig-31 scared into early retirement in 1986.

On his eighth intercept, on January 31, 1986, here’s what happened: “They alerted us for an intercept at 11.00. They sounded the alarm with a shrill bell and then confirmed it with a loudspeaker. The appearance of an SR-71 was always accompanied by nervousness. Everyone began to talk in frenzied voices, to scurry about, and react to the situation with excessive emotion.”
Taking off with Aleksey Parshin, his Weapons Service Officer, their aircraft broke the sound barrier at 26,000 ft. At 52,000 ft, the MiG achieved infrared lock on the SR-71 and a target indicator showed the distance – 120 km – in the head up display. The aircraft’s computer automatically fed the data to the missiles, and four green triangles appeared on the target illuminated in the head-up display. A computerised female voice named Rita inside Myagkiy’s earphones announced – “Attack”.
At 65,676 ft the computer announced the “Attack” order again. The Blackbird was flying a mere 8000 ft above him and Myagkiy had a visual sighting of the aircraft. “Had the spy plane violated Soviet airspace, a live missile launch would have been carried out. There was practically no chance the aircraft could avoid an R-33 missile,” says Myagkiy.

To me that article was too narrow. Maybe @gambit could "shed" some light on it.

Old news and not credible. Officially, the US never trespassed Soviet borders, but everyone knew we routinely flew SR-71 recon near and even inside Soviet territory and left with impunity. We knew about the MIG-31 and its many alleged intercepts or deterrents of SR-71 flights. We flew anyway. I had a chance to listen to some -71 mission tapes back when I was stationed in the UK. Seventy-two thousands ft altitude is not the limit. Try adding at least 15,000 more.

The MIG-31 scared the SR-71 into retirement? Nyet, tovarisch.

I heard that all the SR needed to do is to fly a route next to the Soviet costal region, then it would take pictures. In some cases didn't the Foxhound fire at the SR-71?

The SR-71 Blackbird was retired because of the cost,The :usflag:airforce wanted money to go to different programs. FoxHound had nothing to do with it lol. They are both good planes thou.:bounce:
