The India as nation then contained both present day India and Pakistan. That means even Pakistan was colonised. Perhaps you didnt know this

More than that, first Islamic rule in modern India started from slave dynasty and that was close to 11th century. And they ruled small section of North. True expansion only came in 15th century and lasted for less than 150 years. When English were fighting the colonial wars, dominate powers in India were Marathas. Infact, before English took over, modern Pakistan was under Sikh rule. But that's just "Indian" history.

Lol..we were always muslim for more than a thousand years... and kid our states were always ruled by our own local kings who were always muslim... unlike india... also the capital of mughal empire was india... and all of india was under muslim rule.. frm Sultan tipu of south india to muslim mughal rule of entire india....

Heck even the british ruled modern day india for 200 years and had a large presence in indian cities... unlike Pakistan.. which was always self governed,ruled for a mere 3-4 decades by local rulers who only paid tributes to the brit govt which was settled in delhi.... and our people never saw white colonisers in our villages n native areas.... nor did we have any industrialisation done in our country by the brits like india.. our region was always conservative,religious and traditional... heck a white british was indias first head of state... unlike Pakistan whose head was Jinnah...
