THATTA: Pakistan has broken the world record previously held by India of planting the highest number of saplings in one day. Over 700,000 saplings were planted at Kharochan in the coastal area here on Saturday.

The campaign for the planting of saplings was launched early Saturday morning with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, Coastal Community Development and Forest Department.
Some three hundred volunteers were engaged in trying to break the Indian record of 6,11,137 saplings.

hoping atlease 300000+ saplings will turn into strong trees in that area……:super:

Stop trying to compare with India in every little thing, I'd like to know how many of those old saplings survived? We should have aimed for quality rather than quantity, I can imagine how they must have done it from my experience of doing group projects in school :P

Wow! Nice work!

On a lighter vein, you guys have finally beaten the Yindoos in something at least! :P

We can pronounce hindu fine

Depends on how they planted those sapling, and their real intentions, i.e they wanted large scale afforestation, or just to beat the hindus at something. ;)

If they planted those saps at a very close distance from each other, they'll struggle to get nutrition and ultimately perish.

That's a great competition
But this record won't survive long days :partay:

Its fine if even 1% survive. And it better if we compare and compete in this field!

i really hope to see atleast 50-60% sapling turn into trees…
well survival depends on people who planted those…
I hope all of them were professionals…
that is costal area soo I suppose this percentage of 50-60% can easily be obtained…

Sir,

With plants---under those circumstances----it is not quality but QUANTITY---it is a numbers game---in wild so many will survive and so many will die.

What I meant was how well they were planted and at what distance
