Come on guys please try and just read the basics. These were not SSG or PMA Cadets, these were instructors at PMA, you can even tell by the stripes on their shoulders and cap badges, also an PMA adjutant (major) in the photo.

Pace stick, like marching and salutes is not a "colonial tradition", it is used as a vehicle to install discipline, the same discipline that in combat makes soldiers obey orders without question.

Shame to so some ignorance on this forum.

The point is, you have to do everything in life,
If your parents are sick in hospital, you don't stay there 24/7, you visit, look after them, but you do other things in life. You work, look after other members of the family, you meet friends and so on.

This is about building relationships, showing your capabilities and your professionalism, building moral of the soldiers and your citizens, it has value in so many ways.

Please try and look at things holistically, rather then passing judgement in a superficial way. Thank you.
