Even if the BLA did want to kill him, they surely would not let such a propaganda opportunity go through. They would have wanted to make videos and get confessions, then kill him.

A prisoner exchange seems logical as well.

So travelling is prohibited in Pakistan? Karachi natives can't visit Ziarat and then drive to the capital city of the province?

Balochistan’s problems will end when more provinces are created.
Why is Balochistan one single province when majority of Balochistan is non Baloch?
Give Pashtuns and Brahuis if Balochistan an independent province.
Brahuis of Balochistan should have been our biggest ally against bla and blf since they have nothing in common with baloch people but nowadays you see Brahui people acting as Baloch and joining terrorist groups.
I suggest we make 5-6 provinces out of Balochistan.

South Khyber province for Pashtuns
Kalat province for Brahuis
Makran province for Balochistan’s costal areas
Sulaiman province for Saraiki and Baloch near border of Sindh and Punjab
Balochistan province for Baloch

5 provinces should at least be made out of Balochistan if we want Balochistan to actually be developed

Gentlemen, the officer was not wandering in Balochistan, nor was this area insecure or something. This Ziarat place is a normal tourist spot where people from all walks of life residing in Quetta regularly go.

Nope it was a lucky grab by them as they knew some of the Army Officials do Visit Ziarat during the vacations. They are now just exaggerating the scenario after the Officers Martyrdom. And some of his Close relatives told me that he was a Retired and not a serving Officer. Secondly a SSG unit was close to the area probably already stationed in that area for some IBOs. But the Ts made their Move first.

Just wrote what the on ground people are saying. Maybe reality might be something else. And yes a Colone rank Officer from the MI usually moves in a cover with Fake IDs and Tailed by a backup Team . He was moving with his real ID card. Means he was not Familiar with the threats. A colonel from the MI is a top target. As a serving Colonel was dealing with the whole of Afghan Operations. Similarly an Indian Navy equivalent to Colonel rank Officer was dealing with the whole of Balochistan and Sindh province. They are a top target and they donot move alone.

Plenty of them on the social sites but not so on the ground . The threat is not as such that we need to launch an All out operation. Like the BLA team that was smoked by the SSG near Kech was the one involved in 20+ attacks at different locations and video taped them . But in the propoganda video they were bragging about 100 plus BLA fighters taking part in the Different operations that was a lie and one of the BLA member killed in that was a Afghan Markists from Afghanistan.

I beg to differ, he is more neutral in his wordings in regards to reporting on terror activities. Though maybe in some cases it can come off as him being 'sympathetic'. Anyways he's a good journalist covering that area as he has good sources.

Well I'm not too familiar on what the situation was but from what I can piece together, some terrorists got encircled while others split away either it was before or after contact with the Military forces. The terrorists that got encircled had the LtCol with them and decided they would rather go out fighting and kill him as there was no use of him during the situation from their perspective.
