This is indeed sad and may he rest in peace BUT where was this much news, action when just recently workers of coal mine company belonging to punjabi, pushtoon enthinicity were abducted and martyred?
We need to address the core issue because until then we can kill theirs and they will martyr ours. We will make few news , threads say RIP and NO CONCRETE ACTION WOULD BR DONE.
Army has been in balochistan for 2 decades now and still it is one of the most underdeveloped and volatile province.

Poor people die. They just keep dying. 70000 civilians were martyred in a war they never chose to enter or fight. Anyone of them got recognition? Has anybody even bothered to call them by names, one by one? In media they are reported as unnamed 50 (or so) civilians, dying in suicide blast. What makes this officer more of a martyr than each one of those 70000 civilians? What mandates the recognition of this officer's martyrdom in distinct way than those 70,000? Is sanctity of a civilian life equal to that of a military personnel in Pakistan? If not, why?

I sincerely beleive anybody trying to answer these questions will definitely find the way to end most of the insurgencies in Pakistan, if not all.

But some may choose to delete the question, still spreading their propaganda about possibilities of curtailing insurgencies with military tactics or equipment (which is only going to lead to more covilians and uniformed casualties, with some individuals at the top getting bodies of martyrs to build their empires on). IMHO, all such people along with those british era general uncles, have no iota of understanding of national security in modern era (even if someone still considers them sincere in fighting insurgencies).
So the poor people keep dying, as they have been, in our 70 years history.

Your anger and frustration is misplaced.

How is it even possible not to bring political gobshite in such threads when it’s all about Politics & politics alone ?

Haven’t the armed forces hurt the people more than enough ?

This God-forsaken country has come to DHA.
I agree - when the Army leadership directly and indirectly manipulates and interferes in civilian governments and acts as king maker, then they are justifiably criticized when lower ranking soldiers are martyred and the Army is seen as not making significant progress in the areas that ARE supposed to be its responsibility, and those areas should no longer include managing business ventures or real estate.

Gentlemen, the officer was not wandering in Balochistan, nor was this area insecure or something. This Ziarat place is a normal tourist spot where people from all walks of life residing in Quetta regularly go.

It's just like Murree or Ayub Park. You don't need an escort to go there.
Sir why are you waiting your time, half these people have never left their cities let alone travelled to Quetta. They are only good for fast and furious typing on keyboards.

The army recognises all sacrifices made by civil and military personnel the real question should be asked to the governments do they even pay homage or visits to those who are martyred no they don't the thing is in natural calamities, disasters, emergencies its always the army that plays a vital role in helping the civil life of Pakistan whilst civil leaders stay idle.

The real job of highlighting the sacrifices Pakistan has made is the Government's job yet we see army officials making a strong case for the sacrifices Pakistan has in the WOT on the Intl stage quote me any government official that has ever highlighted our sacrifices. You cant simple as.

It's funny we are getting lectures from idiots who think they know XYZ because of indifference to opinions.

I guess politicians and their cult followings do play a role in hate speech no wonder slogans like Bhutto Zinda hai, Establishment.

The army is not foolproof but it is the reason we have survived as a nation for 70 years whilst politics have always undermined our sense of security and peace.

As a matter of fact, we survived as a nation for 24 years only. The Army was equally (if not more) responsible for the 1971 debacle

1971 onwards we survived because of Army/State-sponsored religious-chauvinistic indoctrination via distortion

Times have changed now and the younger generation is not willing to buy the usual patriotic claptrap and distortions any longer.

How was the army responsible for 1971 I would like to hear your eccentric knowledge on this am all ears.

"...due to corruption arising out of the performance of Martial Law duties, lust for wine and women, and greed for lands and houses a large number of senior Army Officers, particularly those occupying the highest positions, had not only lost the will to fight but also the professional competence necessary for taking the vital and critical decisions demanded of them for the successful prosecution of the war"

This model of QRF needs to change

On receipt of information, Army Quick Reaction Forces were immediately dispatched to chase the fleeing terrorists. They were traced moving to their hideouts in the general area of Mangi Dam.
Following that, a deliberate search operation was launched by security forces using Special Service Group (SSG) troops and helicopters. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces, while a huge cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), explosives and ammunition have also been recovered from their hideout.
