You have two armies both opperating against hostiles in close proximity, to not have a military presence in each others camp to improve comunication and cooperation would be madness.

Pakistan has a right to be kept informed of the opperations of Nato/US forces along the border both to avoid misunderstandings and to allow them to better plan their own opperations. That needs people face to face comunicating on a daily basis not just an occasional emailed briefing paper.

I think we shouldn't jump to conclusions on such baseless pieces of news that come in everyday. Their sole purpose is to not only demoralize the Pakistani people but also create a hatred in their hearts towards their own country.

Pakistani government as well the ISPR have categorically stated numerous times that they will not allow any American presence or even drone strikes for that matter in Balochistan. In fact the government and along with the army are preparing to put an end to the Drone strikes in NW as well. Be optimistic guys and think rationally.

In one of the WikiLeaks Us Embassy Cable, Ambassador Crocker requests that the UN request to ban JuD be delayed until American military personnel are out of AJK and NWFP. See below:

Post’s preferred timeline is:

¶2. (S) Post’s reasoning for requesting this delay is based solely on force-protection considerations.
