PAF Reveals Bayraktar Akinci, TB-2, WL2 and Establishment of National ISR and Integrated Air Op Center in a Newly Released Video

Pakistan military should use S2 and give feedback to AWC.
Akinci is high end UCAV so will be used against India only. For antiterrorism ops, S2 should be first priority not imported items because S2 has long way to go and only military feedback can help AWC to improve it further.

I don't know why you people forget our indiginous products and always advocate for imported items use. This is unfair.
It can carry penetration bombs into caves and concrete bunkers... or other heavy munitions when need a higher radius of destruction or, for example, 14-30 mini smart bombs... AKINCI is basically an unmanned solution that can combine the mission of bomber jets with very high patrol times. As well as being able to respond to strategic tasks, it will also have appropriate task loads for asymmetrical targets by its nature.

From today's flight of AKINCI. 40,100 feet.

There will also be a configuration which these planes will flight full of BVR missiles. The aim (for some cases) is to keep as many missiles in the air as possible. These missiles can be fired by an AEW&C aircraft or a fighter jet.
lol, you don't use a gunship for firing BVR missiles. That is a terrible idea.

TB 2 is new star of battle fields shud b acquired in numbers with tot
it really isn't. The fact it has done well simply shows you how MIA the RuAF have been. Now, if you think in general that UCAVs eat armored vehicles for lunch, that's probably true. But there are a lot of UCAVs out there that can do the same as what TB-2 has done.

Is it? Even the USAF debated with the idea of equipping the AC-130 with a AESA and AIM-120Ds to act as an occupying aerial bunker

@Windjammer look who signed the contract

If you have full control of air space, then you can do whatever you want. But something in that configuration would have very low maneuverability and no stealth. The survivability even against something like Mig-21 would be pretty low.

the main pro for UCAVs vs manned aircraft is its loiter time. You can have it in the air all the time without tiring out the pilots. If your opponent can't keep patrolling the air space, then the UCAVs are free to attack ground vehicles. However, if you have a manned fighter jet in the air vs UCAV or a gunship, the fighter jet will win every time.

Would you put AAMs on your AWACS and expect them to fire missiles? You wouldn't. The future of aerial warfare trends toward more distributed surveillance, stealth, networking, data fusion and unmanned platform.

Akinci is a beast and a proper HALE, it is design to carry NG Aselsan F16 AESA Radar, as per Turkish media it will also carry A2A missile inventory , It can carry SOM Cruise missile
2x 750 HP engines
8 Hard points
30 k operational Altitude
40 k service ceiling
25 Hrs endurance
current version have two 450 HP engines, B version which underdevelopment / testing stage will have two 750 HP engines, C version will have 950 HP version

Current Version is not integrated with AESA radar.

concerning development IAF needs to wake up

India already have S-400 and Rafales why they need to wake up?? India can sleep well as long as they want. 😜

It is expected that there will be 4 different engine configurations in AKINCI system.
  • PD222ST (240hp)
  • AI-450T (450hp)
  • PT6A-135A (750hp)
  • MS500 (950hp)
The variant that will have 2x750hp take-off power is AKINCI B. For some reasons, I don't think Pakistan will prefer this variant. I think 2x450hp and 2x950hp variants will be preferred.

Some variants will have a unique multi-role radar developed entirely for UAVs. Apart from the nose radar, it will also have a few different avionics/payloads that are not often seen in UAVs. Munition/missile group and basic avionics will be as follows:

E_zTMPtVEAED8GI

Could be very good platform for PN maritime long range UCAV to support MPAs.

Congratulations. I was planning to write something about some of the innovations Akıncı would bring to the battlefield. It should now include the Pakistan army in such matters.
Seems the army is banking on Shahpar 2 and possibly AZM UCAV.
Or perhaps they will produce these under the azm project?
