every modern jet trainer has a secondary role like light attack etc. even the obsolete FT-5 had option to carry sidewinder/PL-5 AAM's.

Although the K-8 Project was a happy beginning but it should not have been stopped with the U.S sanctions in placed, instead it should be continued with EU equipment like engines from France Snecma or U.Ks Rolls Royce or Honey well Corps with licence to produce at PAC engine division and avionics from different EU countries to have combined best avionics package and like try to produce much components locally although we have been partner for 25% in this project but Chinese could allow us to make as much components for our K-8 but we will be responsible for 25% exports in terms or Aircraft or in terms of parts supply. So from 1990s till 2000s we might be able to produce like 50-70 aircraft, can also sell the old 12 that have U.S equipment to those who are willing to buy and have all the Aircraft made in PAC. After that we can go for K-8 Block-IIs that have DSIs with lading gears like JF-17s, composites and IFRP, may be another 70 in next 7-10 years. All this was and is possible if we have shown interest and willing to open more and more CCS in different parts of Pakistan.

about the JF-17 twin seater..will it replace the FT-7/FT-6 and act as the advance jet trainer for the airforce?

I think PAF has no plans for making two seat variant of JF-17, not until it has to export it to some other country.

Just like Super Mashak, Super K-8P should also be considered with L-15 style cockpit, HMDS, A-Darter missile & ECM/Aselsan pods. This will increase its capability and sale in African and other middle east countries.

It is good enough as it and serves the purpose. many african countries already are using it - namibia, zambia to name a few
