Yes but if it is configured to fulfill the same role as the Mirage V it will be the best at doing that one role. Think of it like the Su-25 that carries only short rage a-to-a missiles and like he Su-25 the JF-17 could be outfitted with gunpods, rockets, and different weapons than the standard JF-17.There is a section called Pakistan air force and a sub-section called JF-17.. just have a look there..plenty of interesting info on the plane..You might find your answer there..
It has BVR missiles and stand-off weapons already, and has proven its strike capabilities in the recent showdown with India..
There are dual and triple bomb carrying tracks now a day.. that should do it for ground attacks.. remember the JF-17 is a multi-role fighter already..But strike fighter need to carry more bombs for ground attack where as BVR missiles used for only air fight
Pakistan is helping Saudi in nuclear energy no question about it, but in reply what we get???? Just 6 billion dollar loan and few million barrel oil, Poor from our diplomats. Pakistan should atleast demand UAE Mirage 2000 as well as 20 billion dollar10 brand new J-10 C will mean only 10 aircraft, while this deal would keep 150 + odd mirages running for quite a while.
Who knows that Saudi might be responsible for this deal as they were the one who funded their upgrades in the first place if i am not wrong??
yes its multi role, but its carry less load, even alot less than Mirage 5 which can carry 4000 KG of bombs for ground attackThere are dual and triple bomb carrying tracks now a day.. that should do it for ground attacks.. remember the JF-17 is a multi-role fighter already..
No CAS variant for it though the JF-17 might have weird performance for that mission. If Gunpods, Rockets, and Maverick missiles could be integrated it would make a hell of a good CAS aircraft. There are dual and triple bomb carrying tracks now a day.. that should do it for ground attacks.. remember the JF-17 is a multi-role fighter already..

Who is talking about CAS? Pakistan has trainers that can be converted to that.. we are talking about strike capabilities like the F-15, the F-35, the J-16, the Rafale, the SU-35 and the Mirage 2K for example..No CAS variant for it though the JF-17 might have weird performance for that mission. No clue if something like this could be done with the JF-17.
Can't all of those also cover CAS hence why the F-16 is used in Afghanistan but can also act as a strike fighter. Are you this guy:
First you have to prove that Pakistan is helping KSA in nuclear Energy..if that was true why then Saudi Arabia is seeking the tech from the US, Russia, China, France and South Korea!?
Second ..get the facts right..The recent investments are up to $ 50 billion..

I was talking about these on the JF-17:
Because the F-16 is also a multi-role fighter..Can't all of those also cover CAS hence why the F-16 is used in Afghanistan but can also act as a strike fighter.
that was mirage f-1 with a radar that can detect a fighter size plane from 120 km away.when used with proper tactics these fighter have downed Iranian F-14s during Iran-Iraq war
Yes it was the F-1 which is of similar size as the Mirage-III and Mirage-V.. it was in visual range dog fights they attacked in packs of 4 and managed to shoot down a few F-14s..that was mirage f-1 with a radar that can detect a fighter size plane from 120 km away.
at those days f-1 was superior to US f-16s. the reason iraqis couldn't use its potentials was their poor trainings. saddam didn't know the difference between a pilot and tank crew, in one incident three mirages went against two tomcats and according to one of their pilots f1s fired 12 missiles on them, he said they were nervous and in all cases broke the radar lock on us so the missile didn't hit us. just compare it with pakistani pilots that managed to take down indian su-30 with jf-17. iraqi air force was superior compared to ours but they had no proper trainings. f-14 was just an excuse for their poor performance.Yes it was the F-1 which is of similar size as the Mirage-III and Mirage-V.. it was in visual range dog fights they attacked in packs of 4 and managed to shoot down a few F-14s..
The Mirage-V is derived from the Mirage-III and the Mirage-I is a development of the Mirage-III.. which is the common denominator..
Do they? Please share how you figured that out? These aircraft are for ground attack.PAF needs air superiority/interceptors, guys buy some interceptors or upgrade the jf-17 radar.
