PAF Base Shahbaz won the Rahim Khan Inter-base Flight Safety Trophy
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on Tuesday has said that PAF can take on any kind of challenge to protect the country. Operation Zarb-e-Azb is an example of this, he added.

He expressed these views in the annual Safety Review 2014 at the Air Headquarters Islamabad.

He said that PAF has excelled in flight safety. He said that PAF is ensuring protection of the country’s assets. Butt said that they take great pride in excellent training of the pilots which is the one of the many things that PAF has stressed upon since the beginning.

He admired the efforts of the supervisors and the commanders of the force in this regard. The meeting was attended by Principal Staff Officers, Regional Commanders and commanders of all the air bases. The Safety Review is conducted annually to review the operational preparations of the force. It also takes into account the flight standards and the ground safety.

Air forces of all major nations are well trained and ready to take on any challenges. Nothing special about it.

I would have preferred that if PN had tried in 2000s about acquiring Egyptian Mirage Vs about 72 of them and also about 8 from PAF and pay for the upgrade with Rose-II/III and deploy them 30 At Mehran, 25 Pasni and 25 Ormara. Built Ormara Airbase with PAF and upgrade Mehran and Pasni with PAF.

Only Acquire 15-20 P-3Cs from US instead of OHP.
It is not a PN thread

PN has already placed an order for about 36+ JF-17 Block-II which means they are planning for their own fleet.

I was saying about the past, above.

The thing is JF17 is not a solution for everything, PD will have to look for new fighters to replace the old dying fleets of Mirage & F7.

J10 will replace Mirage III/V

J10 will replace Mirage III/V

I hope they come but so far thanks to these corrupt politicians (first PPP & now PML-N0 J10 are not coming. Where as the deal was through in Gen. Musharraf's era.

As long as our airforce is obsessed with F-16s nothing will change. We are a decade behind all airforces simply because we are too obsessed with F16s.
