There are no friends in international relations. Do you think Israel feeds Obama a cake every day for him to remain Israels friend? Noit is just the ract that their intsrests coincide so they are friends and once that is over and done with they will move on. The sooner we learn this the better. As to fr8endship with Russia it should be a cornerstone of our policy to be friendly with all superpowers in our region. But Russia can be equally dangerous as US.

They will not ditch us as long as maintaining relations is in there national interest. It is the job of our Foreign Office to ensure this remains the case

Are Americans reliable suppliers? No one is except China when it comes to Pakistan. But we have to have good relations with all the countries.

I heard that they were unable to execute a ground attack after Egypt wants to reply with precision strike after having a blow from ISIS at their border with Syria but don't know the detail. Similarly if PAF have to execute a ground attack or CAS mission they need to acquire authorisation codes.

As compared to Russia they are ruthless as well. US is the only nation to use nuclear weapons and that to when they were winning. Russia accepted breaking up but did not use nuclear weapons.

Now look at the war on terror US is bombing hospitals while Russians are causing minimal collateral damage.

We have suffered more from US being friend then India being Enemy.

There are friends and enemies in international Politics. There are common friends and common enemies. Friends sweeter than honey, friendship deeper than sea and higher than himalayas now turning to be iron friends.
Take it as national rhetoric or something else word friend in international Politics is very common.
we have been acting like puppets of US and some things like US foreign policy tool for decades. Neither you can change the history nor hate against US policies. Go to the market and dare to give five minute speech, no one will like to listen you. You can debate here for days in favour of being US puppets like Al Sauds.....
In 1971 we kept waiting for US, our ally. We are still waiting for civil nuclear deal even after 10 years. US preferred india over Pakistan. It is very , uch clear to everyone.
So no need to be US puppet any more. Likes of Mushi are gone. So others will be. We can't afford them to install dictator everytime for thier intrests. Now I think no one will be available to them.

The US Commander in Afghanistan made some positive remarks in congress about Pakistan. This, plus the rumored SU35, maybe USA wants to keep Pakistan and stop Russian influence from getting any further. With the Russian Kalibr missiles flying through Iran and Iraq and Russia preparing for a full assault in Syria, things are going back to Cold War days. We have an interesting hand to play with.....
