Apparently PAF aircraft involved in Exercise broke the sound barrier causing a huge sonic boom over Peshawar City. An advisory has been issued asking residents not to panic.

In west populated area have restriction of crossing sound barriers ?? Not sure why would paf need to over populated areas it can cause damage to homes broken windows glass etc

And how do you inform people that a fighter will break the sound barrier? It is not something that was planned and PAF exercises go on all the time.

Meri iss mein koi koshish nai
you will find this particular F-16 was pumping flares during a climb and not in a dive.

if public is informed exercise is going on they will not panic if some blast sound is heard .

These exercises normally take place away from build up areas but in certain scenarios the aircraft may end up over a city and inadvertently break the sound barrier.
