These Christian tribes were expelled from Myanmar & they took refuge in Manipur. They should be sent back.

I don't know what you mean by Hindu media.

Media channels that support the central government are using the stock villainous characters in the discourse - Rohingyas, who are too beaten and tired and sick and hungry to harm a mosquito, and Christians, as one of the Abrahamic faiths that everybody loves to hate.

Where are there Hindus in Nagaland and Mizoram? I can understand that being said, to some extent, about Meghalaya. Not about the other two.

Second, there are illegal immigrants from Myanmar present, but the Kukis have been Christian for some time now, and they are not from Maynmar. They are native to Manipur. There are Kukis in Myanmar, but that doesn't mean that all Kukis are Burmese.

Spot on…I really love his speeches in the parliament as well as in other places when he is not in elections mode…He has a lot of potential to be a Pan Indian leader than always cribbing about Muslim centric politics…But at the end of the day, he is trying to be another politician who cares about Muslims in India..

Thank you for educating us. I have seen the Manipur strife in the news lately but never paid attention to that.

But I really think Modi is riding a tiger if he takes communalism too far. I have very recently seen some saner Indian analysts (I think one was the former Governor of IoK, Mr. Malik) saying that alienating such a large minority like Muslims would be very dangerous for India.
