Over 70 percent Indians face risk of malaria infection: report

NEW DELHI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Over 70 percent of India's population, or about 1 billion people face the risk of malaria infection, local press reported Sunday.

Moreover, around 310 million Indians face the "highest risk" of getting infected by the vector-borne disease, said the electronic edition of The Times of India.

India has over 100 million suspected malaria cases although only 1.59 million were confirmed to be infected by the disease last year, the report quoted the World Malaria report 2011 of the World Health Organization (WHO) as saying.

please do not quote Xinhua news because it is CCP's propaganda machine, all the numbers are 'fake' even quoted from other professional institutions....

when you dont have clean water supply and hygiene standard you bound to have such things.. we had this too in 60s and 70s

More than 50% in China are at risk so why don't you shut your yap yap:lol:

.
Ironically 99% of Pakistanis are at risk of getting Malaria

Anyways tropical climate is partly to blame for this, hopefully the number of deaths can be kept in check.

Bangladesh has done quite well, and 66% of their population is out of risk, as compared to 49% in China, 18% in India and 1% in Pakistan.

It is similar logic when chinese members say all indian and western newspapers are propaganda machines.
Similarly xinhua, chinadaily and global times are official mouth piece of ccp and so biggest propaganda machines on earth.
