Over 60 Chinese soldiers killed in Galwan Valley clash claims US newspaper report

New Delhi, Sep 14: An American newspaper has claimed that over 60 Chinese soldiers were killed in the Galwan Valley clash with India.

News Week said in an article that in the June 15 clash 60 soldiers of the Chinese PLA had been killed. This comes weeks after another report said that 30 soldiers were killed in the clash, while attributing the same to US intelligence reports.

The report also says that the failure of the PLA on the Indian border would have far reaching effects. The Chinese military had initially told the Chinese president, Xi Jinping that the focus should be on driving out opponents and recruiting loyalists.

Chinese PLA wanted a repeat of Galwan Valley: Shots fired at LAC first time in 45 years

The article says that the number of Chinese killed could exceed 60, but Beijing will not admit to the extent of the debacle.

On Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a two hour long meeting with the NSA and the military brass. Chief of Defence Staff later appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on defence. However the China issue was not discussed. The CDS agreed to a request by NCP leader, Sharad Pawar who sought to know the details of the border row and said that a letter would be submitted to the committee.

These developments took place after External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi at Moscow. During the meeting both sides agreed that the troops should maintain proper distance and also ease tensions.

The foreign ministers of India and China underlined the importance of disengagement at the Line of Actual Control as the first step towards deescalation of tensions.

The military commanders of India and China will meet in the next couple of days to discuss disengagement from friction points along the LAC. While no date has been fixed as yet, sources say that there are some issues under discussion before the military commanders could meet.

Officials say that the military commanders would work out the process to disengage. China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi and his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar agreed that the de-escalation should follow comprehensive disengagement.

India told China that the massing of Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control is a cause of grave concern. Beijing was told that the provocative behaviour by the Chinese along the LAC showed complete disregard for bilateral agreements and protocols. When Yi said that the bi-lateral ties should continue on a parallel track, Jaishankar reminded him about the immense build up of Chinese troops. China has deployed 50,000 men, tanks, missiles and 150 aircraft.

While Yi spoke about thinning of troops, he had no clear answer about the massive troop build up. Jaishankar however added that while India is all in favour of bi-lateral ties, this could work well only if the borders were peaceful.

The US is like, "Yes India, since you can't do much on the battlefield, we'll join you in concocting some Hollywood masala propaganda to go with your Bollywood masala propaganda against our common enemy, China".

Cow manure remains cow manure, whether excreted by the Indian government/media or the US Government/media.

Cow manure remains cow manure, whether excreted by the Indian government/media or the US Government/media.

The death toll of 60 is attributed to a Canadian Cleo Paskal of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies she has no known connection to the US administration.

The "Foundation of Defense of Democracies" which is where the original claim comes from (without any evidence or source where they got the number from) is same "independent" U.S. regime propaganda mouthpiece that blamed Iran to be behind Osama Bin Laden and tried to link Iran to 9/11, and blurts out fakenews and propaganda promoting the destruction of Iran, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, China and other free nations on a daily basis and has since its foundation been directly serving the U.S. regime to justfiy and defend U.S. acts of terrorism, crimes against humanity and warcrimes.

Its just another nametag for the pile of **** that is the U.S. regime propaganda network.

FDD has links to the US Neo-con establishment (politicians, bureaucrats etc). It takes very pro-Israel and anti-Muslim positions.

As I often point out in my comments on how the Pakistani Establishment can better expand influence domestically (with respect to foreign policy and issues of national security) - look to the US Establishment for templates on influence with plausible deniability.

@dbc @Globenim

You’re probably aware of the recent twitter policy of labeling accounts as ‘govt sponsored’. There was of course this little tidbit

“ State-financed media organizations with editorial independence, like the BBC in the UK or NPR in the US for example, will not be labeled.”

I can’t recall the last time NPR had a proper representation of Pakistan’s position on their shows discussing Pakistan, instead of the usual hacks like Hussain Haqqani and company. Nor is there, to my recollection, any program in recent history where the Chinese governments position has been allowed the same amount of time as those opposing it.

So are we seriously going to pretend that the US Establishment does NOT influence the media, think tanks etc and leverages them to promote the foreign policy positions they want?

And that manure turns into biryani when excreted by USCIRF? right?

Yes I'm aware of FDD's leanings I'm not implying the count of 60 Chinese deaths is accurate unless she reveals her source it is impossible to verify its credibility. I am suggesting that this isn't a US government sponsored balm to sooth Indian egos as you indicated in your earlier post. You know the one with the generous helping of cow manure.

In the Axios interview, Trump said 22 Indian soldiers died and made no mention of Chinese casualties. If China did suffer massive casualties like the Indians are raving about, then I'm sure he would have mentioned the Chinese losses too. Besides the leaders of China and India, then Trump would be the guy with the next most accurate information.

Anyone can say their numbers from US intelligence ... it doesn't given them any credibility at all. Donald Trump, who receives ACTUAL US intelligence, said 22 Indian soldiers were killed on June 15 and did not mention any Chinese deaths at all. Do you think if India killed so many Chinese soldiers as they claim, he wouldn't have also mentioned it? Now the Indians will claim Trump is deliberately smearing the Indians by not saying how many Chinese soldiers died

And they support their claims by using the names of the Chinese PLA generals listed in Wikipedia.
Stop all the propaganda bullshit.

Casualties.
China: 2 dead and 3 wounded when they were attacked by Indian Army. They reportedly fought to their death.

When China reinforcement came.
India: 20 died on the spot and 27 later in ICU. 70 Indian Jawans were captured. 10 was later released in goodwill.

India later claimed that China send their Kungfu experts to pose as PLA soldiers.

The funny thing is this was actually what the son of one of a retired PLA general stated on Weibo immediately after the conflict : 2 Chinese dead (1 died in the ICU) and 47 Indians soldiers dead.

No, you are mistaken. Cow beef was turned into delicious briyani.

Remember we love to eat beef from cow and your favorites are cow dung and urine.

And someone out of you declared that your holy cow dung can save you from nuclear fallout.

And regular use of cow urine is to achieve "amrat".
Well said, Intellect OP.
