Not entirely correct. That series was launched in 2014 and it was a failure in Turkey. My Turkish friends tell me not all Turks have free time to watch 2h long dramas and not everyone is into Islamic past, and visibly speaking they definitely do not worship or hype their actors like they do in South Asia. Their industry is so huge that there are tons of actors coming and going as they are always in constant pressure to create stuff all the time. Fact of the matter is it only became popular 4 or 5 years later when TRT marketed it globally particularly in Pakistan and the Middle East and they did that because they knew the people there have a soft spot for religion in that part of the world to make it profitable which it did ended happening.

They got South Punjab locked down with so many choke points. My cousin had to bring bakri with him just to get into city and they were still escorting him for a few km’s.
