Organising Razakaars and Regional Militias of Pakistan.

Pakistan is blessed with abundant Manpower of military age. Our front line forces comprise of approximately 654,000 active personnel in the armed forces( excluding 25,000–35,000+ personnel in the Strategic Plans Division Forces) ,482,000 active personnel in the paramilitary forces and not forgetting the army reserves of 550,000. Apart from that we have trained men of numerous militias held by Baluch tribal chiefs, religious outfit razakaars, tribal peace lashkars ,defunct mujahideen orgs,Hur mujahideen and other trained men of political/non political organisations.
Militias(razakaars) have played an important role supporting Pakistan Army since the first war of Kashmir in 1948 when Pakistan, with the support of tribal(Waziris) militias, was able to gain control of the region of AJK. Pakistan Army also found the militias volunteering to participate in the wars of 1965 and 1971 quite useful as well.
One of my favourite has been the Hur Mujahid force ,even today just by the wink of an eye of Pir Pagaro ,thousands of Hurs will assemble at the border within minutes.

In February this year Jamat e Islami started registration for Volunteers(razakaars) in Karachi.

Hafiz Saeed and its organisation has thousands of trained men.

There are reports of thousands of trained men of numerous Baluch sardars .

We cannot forget the sacrifices of KPK peace Lashkars.

I can go on and on, i feel time has come to organise these numerous militias and put them into more productive roles. We can also pay them nominal stipends and train them further.I have no evidence to show but some analysts put the combined strength of Militias and Razakaars above one million.
I feel in an event of any eventuality this Civilian Army of Pakistan can become a part/bulk of our strike force for Kashmir or as our line of defence along with other reserves .

Yes i have read this news on the Times of India stating these troops are stationed 20 miles from the LOC.

Like i said, cant trust these ganghoes. But its interesting nevertheless especially if you consider last night's pc by the dg ispr among other things.

The only way to liberate Kashmir is Jihad,the rest is just time waste. If we are serious in Liberating Kashmir we should start the planning now.

Agreed but the timing of the war is more critical than the actual war. Its definitely happening, its not a question of 'if' but 'when'. Let's see.

Its about time Pakistan should organise the civilian Razakars along with restoring the NCC training .In India they have already restored NCC.

I agree proper training and organisation for these numerous outfits is the need of the hour. Since our inception we have been using these militias for different military and strategic goals in wars. In the Sindh sector the Hurs have been the most prominent ones.

OH DA HECK NO!!! goin' down the route of creating ttps & lashkar e jhangvis again? ANY military or paramilitary reserve forces should:
1. be done in complete secrecy.
2. be under the official command of the Armed Forces with a strict hierarchy of ranks.
3. be THOROUGHLY taught that their duties (besides training) is STRICTLY to be decided by the higher military command, they do NOT get to act on their own and if they do, it WILL result in court martial.
4. be drilled into them that they MUST be an embodiment of what Iqbal said: ho halqa-e-yaran to resham ki tarha naram, razme haq o batil ho to faulaad hay momin. that means that no one gets to run around the society trying to be a khalifa on everyone else's heads!

oh GOD ncc is JUST a bloody joke...students go there to get free school credits and learn ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! if you want a REAL reservist force, then we MUST follow the isreali model. Every man & woman above 15 is automatically a reservist infantryman & after an initial 1 month training, all MUST train 1 week out of the month.

These Militias have already existed for decades under loose central command. Most of them are day to day common workers. They have been held together under allegiance of their tribal chiefs,pirs,maliks and religious organisations.

I agree with you but at least start with the NCC the enemy has restored NCC on their side.

The State should organize and be at the top of such orgs if required!!! Warfare isn’t a private affair....
