Here in Pakistan a difference of opinion on organ donation does exist between the two school of thought. There are many sunni friends of mine who find no issue with that but others have reservations for the Moulvi saheb of their neighborhood mosque did not like the idea.
Few people who oppose organ donation say that human body parts are not in our ownership to use them as we wish and they say that human body is sacred even after death but i personally feel that organ transplantation should not be considered as dishonouring a dead body especially in cases when you are donating organs to save the lives of others.

Correct. Another point is, as kids we are told that those people who are close to Allah, their bodies are protected in the graves and insects and other organisms are not allowed to consume them. Don't remember at the top of my head but have seen people quoting some hadith too. Those people also give example of Ashab-e-Kahaf, who, together with their dog, were made to sleep for a very long period of time and Allah protected their bodies during all this time. Yes, we try not to bring religion in but these teachings are part and parcel of our upbringing and come into play and or affect our decisions pertaining to issues such as organ donation.

I know Shia school of thought and Clergy has a very progressive stand on this issue. I wish same could be said about Sunni school of thought. @Zarvan
Many Scholars have strict reservations on it many allow it. Their are wide range of opinions on this.

Actually there are certain things which demand common sense and logic which is hard to find in those who do blind taqleed :)

I want to donate my eyes for sure.
I've been thinking about it for some time now, though I dont know how to go about it?

Yes It is far better to donate your organs after death than let them rot in the soil after death

I am willing to donate anything which might come in use of human beings or science
Is that your pic? If yes than your alcoholic liver might not be suitable for transplant

I have joined the organ donor list here, will encourage everybody to do so. Till we get technology to artificially make human organs(we are not that far away), we will need organs from others.
If my organs can bring joy and life to another human being, I dont see any issues, I am dead anyway.

I will donate everything after my death . Organs which people can use and rest what science can sue . Except Lungs . They are filled with smoke and tar .

Hello there. I wish to learn members views on organ donation after death. I have two questions to ask as follows:

1. Are you OK with donating your organs after death? if no, any particular reason for that?

2. How many organs you are willing to let go after death?

a noble thing to do.
