Any comments ... after today development ?

@Joe Shearer

The ministry of external affairs on Monday summoned Pakistan high commissioner Abdul Basit, hours after it became evident that the 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi may walk free after a court order.

Guilty should be bring to justice but the way things are folding on all this , its really going to spoil relations. Seems Pakistani military is showing its in control. TTP member statement even have put light what is really going on there.

Improve ECONOMY of India. Convert India into a Manufacturing hub.

Ensure India becomes no 1. in Scientific research. India has the biggest youth in world and most of them are studious and hard working. We should have organisations which are better then NASA, DARPA, MIRCOSOFT, SUN. With our talented pool of students, we should be number 1 (and not even number 2) in scientific research and innovation in whole world.

Control Islamic extremism/Muslim population % in India. Throw Missionaries out. Hinduism is important for integration and security of India. Muslims and Christians are good only in controllable minorities. Bitter truth but true.

Provide larger funds for armed forces and make RAW/IB so effective that no one is able to carry out terrorist attack in India. Make Indian Armed Forces the most fearsome and formidable force in world, and ready for war with Pakistan/China together if required. Make it amply obvious that Indian Armed Forces would not only fight but will also win the war if necessary.

Put pressure on Pakistan from all fronts. Expose Pakistan's terrorist connections whenever any proof is found (ISI, GOP, or anyone in Pakistan related to terrorism). At same time look to form good relations in case future Pak generation has a realistic heart change for good relations with India.

Forget about connecting to Middle east from Pakistan. Plan our connectivity with rest of world ASSUMING/100% BELIEVING that Pakistan does not exist on world map. Our connectivity should be built with 0% dependence on Pakistan. Make Pakistan irrelevant in stopping the growth of India. Indian growth should not be dependent on any sort of expectation from Pakistan. If relations improve and Pakistan offers any connectivity, just think of it as bonus. It should not be our requirement.

Work on making India stronger. Make India a Military/Economic superpower. Offer any help in-between if possible to liberal society in Pakistan. If possible then help the liberal defeat the extremists in Pakistan (IF POSSIBLE). Make efforts but don't worry even if it not happens. India should be so strong that even if every single Pakistani/Bangladeshi converts into a LET/Taliban/ISIS member, they should not be able to harm India/Indians either Militarily or economically.

No.1 is a work in progress for a long time, it is difficult to achieve but we are trying.
No.2 is also being done for those assets inside India, IB, NIA, Police, all are for that, doing this inside Pakistan is futile and will make us a terrorist country too. (Futile because these terrorists are easy to replace, they are just executioners, not brains).
No. 3 Our military definitely has plans, all militaries have such plans.
And you should not be so obnoxious till the next attack happens in India. :)

Get rid of what? Indian assets? Who will fight the Kashmir war then? Or will they suddenly quit it after decades of efforts? Just wait for some time, everything will 'normalize' like before, you guys are just expecting too much and making yourselves potential victims of another rude shock. Lakhvi's release was just a bad timing that was corrected.
Very well said. 'Nothing has changed.' :agree: I am not upset though.

As Pakistan has given a strong signal to India after giving bail to Lakavi that her policies will remain the same vis a vis India. Pakistan can't afford to open another front in Punjab and Azad Kashmir. PML N has strong associations with militant groups. Imran Khan is a known Taliban supporter. Civil society of Pakistan is at weakest. They can't exert any pressure on establishment. In short, we should not expect any help from Pakistan. Other countries like US and others also not of much help. They have their limits. So would like to discuss the options for India politically, military and diplomatic. My suggestions
1. we should cooperate with Israel to make our internal security impenetrable (which is very very difficult).
2. Give a free hand to RAW to neutralize anti Indian assets of ISI.
3. Contingency plans in case of any attack on Indian soil. as we can't afford to have full fledged war with Pakistan because of nukes.
Kindly share your opinion

@Bang Galore @Joe Shearer @Screambowl @third eye @SpArK @ranjeet
Right now India can't do much and any action on our soil could lead to war.

The best option for India is to just concenate on developing its economy, strengthen its foreign policy, indigenise the defence sector..keep a vigil on border and stop infiltration at any cost, better intelligence gathering and stopping terrorist attack.

As far as Pakistan is concerned...they have dug their own grave sooner or later they will pay heavily for following ideology of Jihad and being the Army of Islam. All India needs to ensure is that when go into the grave they don't take any Indian with them.

I don't really think we need to do much other than improving our internal security and defences, Pakistan is going steady on its self-destruct mode.
What do you foresee about that self-destruct mode. In a proxy war using terror pakistan has an edge and causes more harm to India than suffering for self. Pakistan enjoyed US patronage all the while and now enjoying Chinese patronage. Kashmir alone revives their nationalism and it will go on forever. So what does that self-destruct translates into other than a rhetoric? Pakistan becoming a Somalia or Afghan inder Taliban or an ISIS like state will be more dangerous as it has nukes. Imagne Mulla Umar or Baghdadi has nuclear weapons. So Pakistan will showcase this fear to the world and keep fighting the bad terrorists and seek concessions. India needs to have some strategy for a permanent solution and not tolerate it like a nasoor.

These organizations are surely damaging Pakistan's economic prospects, the economic and military gap between India and Pakistan will continue to rise to a point where they will be unable to continue the proxy war.

Till that time we need to strengthen our internal security network and focus on development to improve our stature and importance in the world, so that we can gather more international pressure on Pakistan and increasingly isolate them internationally.

So when is India taking action against its own homegrown terrorists in the Northern region?

Assam? Does that ring any bells? Or is Pakistan more important for Indians to live their life?

Lakhvi rearrested, India says half measures won’t do - Hindustan Times

December 30, 2014

Pakistani police rearrested 26/11 mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi on Tuesday morning in a kidnapping case, drawing flak from India for deploying half-hearted measures when the terrorist should be tried for the 2008 Mumbai massacre.

Police sought a week’s remand for the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander against a fresh complaint that accused him of kidnapping a man, who has been in the custody of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a front for the terror outfit behind 26/11 in which 166 people died.

Police told the court that Lakhvi had abducted the complainant’s brother-in-law six-and-a-half years ago to use him for waging jihad.

Lakhvi’s lawyer contested the complaint but the magistrate allowed police a two-day remand for the terrorist who was arrested in December 2008 and kept in a Rawalpindi prison ever since.

He was set to walk out of jail after the Islamabad high court on Monday suspended his detention under a strict public safety law, finding no fault in the bail that an anti-terrorism court granted him 12 days ago.

Pakistani authorities tried various mechanisms to keep Lakhvi in jail in the wake of the bail announcement and India’s angry reaction to a high court’s approval of his release.

Indian political parties and foreign policy observers on Tuesday said Pakistan should not take tentative measures but show sincerity through convictions in the 26/11 case.

Pakistani police officers escort Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi, the main suspect in the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, after his court appearance in Islamabad, Pakistan.

He is re arrested but the thing is this that the verdict should be given on this case. Already there are talks about going to UN on this issue.

India should approach UN over Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi: Ujjwal Nikam - The Economic Times
MUMBAI: Ujjwal Nikam, the prosecutor who led the trial in the 26/11 case, today said India should represent to the UN against a Pakistani court suspending the government's order detaining Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, a key planner of the terror attacks.

You have no idea the influence of LeT among Pak govt circles.
One way or another he will released from jail.I am cent percent sure about that.
