Opinion : Is it rude to not reply when you are quoted or tagged ?

So i have done this many times. People have quoted me but i didnt reply back. Mostly cause i thought there was nothing left to discuss.
What do you guys think ? Is it rude to not reply back when you are quoted ?

i think it is extremely rude if you don't reply but if you think there is nothing left to talk at least like the comment to let other guy know that you have read their post.

It depends on the circumstance.

But a good practice is to acknowledge by replying that you know what you were tagged.

I pointedly don't respond to Indian trolls.

Sometimes when internet warriors have the Shield of Prevarication out in front and I need to call in surgical strikes, it may take time to move the heavy equipment to the front line. In that case there will be a delay.

Sometimes I simply forget.

And sometimes it doesn't make sense to belabour the point.

Nothing wrong with this. i usually do the same to avoid arguments. as every discussion here, somehow lead's to argument in 95% cases. Or bhai behs nahe hoti mery se. dil ka zor khatam hay. Haan lekin me post like kar deta hun.
2nd reason is that i am very selective in Topics. i usually comment on 1 out of 20 threads posted here.
But i do reply closed-friends here no matter what sort of topic it is. [just like this one. ]

I hope it's not seen as rude, I'm guilty of it very often, most of the time I don't reply is because I lack the time to post one with any substantial detail, and I know one reply can spiral into a debate which I have even less time for.
