What's new

Opinion | 10 'outrageously unthinkable' yet pragmatic solutions to Pakistan's major problems.

What the up basically said in short: Abandon your values and the values of your forefathers and leave Islam without saying it directly.

I think Pakistan will relapse sooner or later to it's former self meaning democracy will be no more and it will fully embrace it's islamic roots and it won't be an immediate transition but 30-40 years down the line.

Food for thought... Lets say if Pakistan was to become a non-believing nation than Allah will replace them with another nation that is better than them everyone is replacable.. You are not a believer for free and nobody can attain it except these who have been chosen for it. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide. Whoever He misguides, none can guide....

“(Even) if you desire that they be guided, then verily, Allah does not guide those whom He allowed to stray.”

“And for whoever Allah wills to try with error, you can do nothing for him against Allah”
(5:41).

“then verily, Allah” – meaning, this is the way in which Allah does things. If He wills a thing, then it happens, and if He does not will a thing, then it does not happen.

Sorry to say that it is just a rehashed version of Musharraf's thought of Sab se Pehle Pakistan. My ears still ring from the ramblings of President Musharraf. There is nothing new in the article except that we should move towards Russia and China from the American Camp and be neutral in their rivalries.

The author makes a mistake when he lumps together all foreign operations as Mercenary. There are ideological operations and there are Mercenary operations. Supporting Afghan Jihad was an ideological operation and same was the case with Bosnia or now the Rohingwa. Mercenary operation was when the Palestinian camps were demolished to support the Jordanian Monarchy. Similarly in Somaliya.

As the Pakistan army has exhausted all possible avenues of generating income. So both these operations are very handy. Black Water under its new name is the largest Mercenary organization in the World. Russian ex-army mercenaries are fighting on the side of Khalifa Haftar in Libya. Mercenary armies were the norm a few centuries ago. Till today the Personal guard of the Catholic Pope are Swiss Mercenaries. People used to join armies in other countries based on some commonality of cause or pure monetary benefit. Tipu Sultan had a French General under him who organized his army on modern lines. Ranjeet Singh also had foreign soldiers.

Pakistan has to shoulder its burden as an ideological state. The Holy Prophet PBUH said the Muslim Ummah is like a body. If one part is hurt then the rest of the body feels the pain. The Holy Quran says some thing to this effect that, do you not hear the cries of the helpless women and children for help.

Additionally, like almost everything else War is now privatized in Pakistan. If the youth want fight for foreign causes based on ideological reasons, then there should be no problem in it. Their families are proud of their work.

Gen (R) Raheel Shareef is heading the Saudi coalition against the rebels in Yemen supported by Iran. If the coalition was not there then parts of Saudia would have fallen to the Houthi rebels. They plan on capturing the Holy Places.
