Operation Tirah Valley | News & Updates

This is intense but as always, our soldiers are keen.

Terrorist, must have been well dug. InshaAllah terrorists and their sponsors, will loose. نَصْرٌ مِّن اللَّهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ

Tirah Valley borders Afghanistan, and as usual terrorists will run back to save heavens in Afghanistan.

Zardari is supplying free fuel and food to terrorists in Afghanistan.

I think army need to block transit aid of terrorists before launching any serious operation.

ttp will put all resistence for few holding positions they are left with, IA Pak army will emerge victorious cuz these factions can't sustain for long in confortation with state and organized army.

Has the training of our armed forces gone down?
Why is it that now same number of militants and 'trained soldiers' get killed in every operation?
23 soldiers and 30 militans...

My condolences to the soldiers and their families.

They could just use attack helos to hit Taliban positions would be much more effective but more costly. There is always an excuse...

There were only a few SSG, rest were soldiers from 8 Punjab.

Couple of majors and SSG captain also shaheed.

FRom what I heard from various sources and people, it wasn't a planned offensive...first a IED blast occured, taliban surrounded the troops, SSG then came and something somewhere went awry...bodies were riddled with bullets, probably indicating they were shot upclose or shot even after they were killed.

@TaimiKhan might be able to explain more...reconstructive surgery was also done as per him.

MAy the shuhada rest in peace and be granted jannah. Aameen.

Ambush, IED and whatnot.

A convoy passes through a valley and auddenly militants start firing from the mountains on the sides.

A decade into this and hasn't PA learned this by now, this is not a new TTP tactic. NATO knows the enemies tactics and they have Recon troops and drones patrolling before they send into infantry to a potentially hostile territory. This is why you also send attack helicopter assisting the troops.

These kinds of ambushes can be averted with proper countermeasures what is PA doing? Poor command? Low money? Lack of brains?

This is a big blow. RIP.

More needs to be done to minimize casualties.

Too tired right now, will reply tomorrow.

using special forces for conventional ground operation is not good option.use army with tanks is more practical approach,no use of Special forces is there in this kind of situation.Special Force is used for stealth and surprise element.when they loose this elements, they are nothing more than good trained regular forces.RIP..

Tanks were used in 2006 and they were a big mistake as they were sitting ducks in that terrain. It is highly versatile terrain their. so many places to hideout... and only short passage of valleys to move ... it has to be hands on fight.

23 SSG guys.... should have seen this coming when they were advancing in Tirah valley...

may Allah be with Pak Army... hit hard, decisive blow !!

Its 23 soldiers including 8 SSG. I am sure they sent many TTP scums to hell before leaving us forever.

@Topic

RIP brave soldiers. At times like these a person feels so helpless.
