At least five terrorists have been killed as security forces carried out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North and South Waziristan districts, the military said in a statement on Friday.
"Weapons, ammunition and a large quantity of equipment were also recovered from the killed terrorists," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The ISPR further said that the army was determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of our territory with an unflinching resolve.

Pakistan's security forces have conducted numerous operations against terrorism across the country, not only arresting terrorists and their facilitators but also foiling several attacks during the last three months.
Security forces have killed more than 150 terrorists during the last three months as operations to eliminate terrorism from the country continue. At least 1,007 terrorists were arrested during 6,921 operations by security forces across the country in the last three months.
A total of 1,960 operations were conducted in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, out of which 1,516 were area-domination operations, 301 were intelligence-based operations, and 143 were area-sanitisation operations.
As a result of the operations conducted by security forces, 98 terrorists were killed and 540 were arrested in K-P.

A wanted terrorist commander Abdul Rasheed alias Rasheedi has been killed in an operation by security forces in Gara Guldad area of Dera Ismail Khan district.
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted after a terrorist attack on police party deputed on census security duty in Raghzai area of Tank district. A policeman also embraced martyrdom in the exchange of fire.
The killed terrorist was wanted to police for being involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians.

As a result of continuous technical Surveillance and Reconnaissance of the area, a location of the Terrorists was identified and Security Forces along with CTD were inducted.
Resultantly, while terrorists had already escaped, a huge cache of arms and ammunition including rockets, Improvised Explosive Devices and other accessories has been recovered. The recovery has helped avert an obvious terrorist activity at some urban areas like Quetta.

On 21 March 2023, during an encounter with the hard core terrorists in general area Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, intense fire was exchanged. Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki from Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), while leading the encounter from the front, embraced Shahadat while 7 x members got injured (including 2 critically wounded).
Brigadier Barki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland.

The security forces have successfully apprehended a high value target, Gulzar Imam alias Shambay in a high profile and a successful intelligence operation, lead by the intelligence agency.
According to ISPR, he has been a hardcore militant as well as founder and leader of the banned outfit Baloch National Army, which came into being after amalgamation of Baloch Republican Army and United Baloch Army.
Baloch National Army had been responsible for dozens of violent terrorist attacks in Pakistan including attacks on law enforcement agencies installations in Panjgur and Noshki.
Gulzar Imam also remained as Deputy to Brahamdagh Bugti in Baloch Republican Army till 2018.
He was instrumental in formation of Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar and remained its operational head.
Gulzar Imam's visits to Afghanistan and India are also on record, his linkages with hostile intelligence agencies are being investigated.

In another fierce encounter between own troops and terrorists in Karama area of South Waziristan, own troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location, killing one terrorist.
However, during intense exchange of fire, Naik Fazal Janan having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

Eight terrorists were killed in an Intelligence Based Operation in general area Zarmilan, South Waziristan Tribal District.
According to the ISPR, during the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists. Own troops effectively engaged the terrorist’s location. Resultantly and 8 terrorists were sent to hell.
Weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorists. The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
However, during intense exchange of fire, Lance Naik Shoaib Ali (age 25 years, resident of Parachinar, District Kurram) and Sepoy Rafi Ullah (age 22 years, resident of District Lakki Marwat) having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.
Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
It is pertinent to mention here that security forces of Pakistan remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
LAHORE - Punjab’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Tuesday claimed to have foiled a terror plot by killing two suspects during intelligence based operation in Rajanpur.
According to CTD spokesman, on a tip-off that five alleged terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were present with explosives and weapons in Rajanpur area near Rojhan police station, and they were plotting to attack security institutions, the CTD teams reached the spot.
Seeing the CTD teams, the suspects resorted to indiscriminate fire at them. The CTD teams retaliated in self-defence, however, two alleged terrorists, identified as Ilyas aka Abdullah of Mardan and Irfanullah aka Qari, of Tehsil Pandiali District, Mohmand Agency, received bullet injuries by the firing of their own accomplices and died on the spot, while their three accomplices succeeded in escaping by taking advantage of darkness.
The spokesman also said that non-electric detonator, a Kalashnikov with 31 bullets, a pistol 30 bore with 20 bullets and a solution tape were recovered from them.
