If a similar survey was conducted in BD you would get probably 5 people who are atheists but I know a shit ton of em myself...nobody answers these questions in the subcontinent honestly...even I wouldn't.

An atheist may not be Communist, but a Communist is necessarily an atheist.
Marx did not believed in god and saw religion as only as a super structure on the basic economy sub structure.

You're right though...very few 'non believers' in the subcontinent are going to answer this question honestly, particularly muslims. I can imagine maybe some people saying....'I don't believe in a structured religion, but I am a spiritual person etc etc...'

If any one is true Communist he can't believe in any god. Like bhagat singh, Lenin etc.
Many muslims who became Communist denounced god. like In recent controversy at JNU, umar khalid said he do no believe in allaha.
Communist even do no believe in state and call for stateless society, with equal right for all. No state has ever implemented, all the theories of communism. They stopped in middle way. Like russia or china.
