Man, you know me for years now, here, PAF, Pakistani forums are always overly patriotic...... Pakistan army reigns supreme, any talk of oppression of minorities is treason etc etc

Well, a public forum, by definition, should allow expression of all kinds of views, if there is to be a healthy debate.

Back to the topic, What you point out as a contradiction i simply one of the issues that the management has to deal with. Any decision they make is bound to be a compromise, leaving some happy and some upset.

True, true, though I think most forums follow the money, as the money is in the Pakistani audience, which is also why Indians won't be banned. A forum with lots of insulting invites more members to join in and insult the other side. You might not have as much civilised debate, but you do garner views.

Though yeah, a civilised forum would be good, but based on money, I think the current iteration has more chance of making it

On a side note, I liked PDF better when it was about civilised debate, and a heck of a lot more specific about what it was, a defence forum. Nowadays, the threads that get any post are politics and World Affairs, which are fun to troll, but no real knowledge is shared on it. Even the Economics section used to be good, now it's about how Nawaz is evil. Or something

Selective and prejudicial application of rules, and a biased promotion process, have degraded the forum over the last few years. However, as a representative microcosm of Pakistan, it is only natural for it to follow the same patterns into decline.

But, it is the management's right to run their forum as they see fit.
