JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesia’s government said 1.2 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by China-based biopharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech arrived in the country late Sunday.
President Joko Widodo said in a televised address that another 1.8 million doses of the vaccine are expected to arrive in early January.
“We are very grateful, thank God, the vaccine is now available so that we can immediately curb the spread of the COVID-19 disease,” Widodo said.
The government is still waiting for millions of other doses of the Sinovac vaccine to arrive in the form of raw materials that will be further processed by state-owned pharmaceutical holding company PT Bio Farma.

However, Widodo said that emergency use authorization from the country’s Food and Drug Control Agency is still needed for mass vaccinations to start.
Indonesia is already cooperating with Sinovac in phase 3 clinical trials of its vaccine candidate, with tests being carried out on 1,620 volunteers in West Java’s Bandung city since August. The government also looked into partnerships with two other Chinese drug manufacturers, Sinopharm and CanSino Biologics.
Penny Lukito, head of the Food and Drug Control Agency, estimated that the Sinovac vaccine would obtain emergency use authorization from the agency by the third or fourth week of January, after the agency evaluates interim results from the third-stage clinical trial.

Pfizer vaccine validity is 5 days only and need to store under -50degrees... I know the western companies trick. They will shirk off any blame if the vaccine dont work or malfunction. They will claim Vietnam is incompetent to store their vaccine and or claim vietnam used it after 5 days of its validity.

They will just earn your money but wouldnt care it works or not. Use Pfizer vaccine at your risk.

Supply chain issues to restrict Pfizer COVID-19 shipments this month

  • Pfizer (PFE -2.1%) expects to ship only half of the COVID-19 vaccine doses this year that it originally planned due to supply chain obstacles, a near-term problem considering its ultra-cold storage requirement of minus 70 degrees Celsius. A company spokesperson stated that the headwinds were due to a later-than-expected data readout from the pivotal trial and challenges scaling up the raw material supply chain.
  • Ultra-cold chain requires special refrigerators for storage and dry ice for shipping, both out of the norm for the distribution of vaccines.
  • It expects to ship 50M doses globally by the end of the month compared to its original plan of 100M. It still expects to ship more than 1B doses in 2021. Shipments will be made from final assembly and distribution centers in Kalamazoo, MI and Puurs, Belgium.

Ok but what’s worse? Sinovac ships vaccines to Indonesia although the third clinical trial is not completed nor the approval of the country CDC? It smells corruption.

I think several other countries, such as Turkey and Brazil, are about to receive their first batch.

There are multiple phase three trials are going on in these countries. They are independent from China's own P3 trials. Besides, US also is getting vaccines before their own ratification. You need to get in line because there are more buyers than available supply.
