One killed in Indian protest against Bangladesh writer

Ms Nasreen's work still angers Muslims

Police opened fire in India's Karnataka state to disperse Muslims protesting at an article by controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen.

At least one person was killed in the violence in Shimoga district after the article appeared in a local daily.

Ms Nasreen fled her native Bangladesh in 1994 when a book she wrote attracted death threats. Muslims said she had offended their feelings.

She left India in 2008 after protests by Muslims and went to live in Sweden.

Some 15 people were injured in Monday's violence in Karnataka, and several shops and vehicles set on fire.

As well as the unrest in Shimoga, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's home district, there was also violence in the town of Hassan.

Police have stepped up security in the state capital Bangalore and elsewhere.

A curfew has been announced until Wednesday.

That because Predominant Hindu nation bharat has given shelter to this witch even though Muslim community has shown strong resentment against her stay in bharat but your government deliberately decided to ignored the sentiment of Muslim population in bharat and else where in subcontinent.

And moreover, it is Muslims (I am ashamed that I am writing it) who are ruffled by her book... Why are you asking this question to Hindus??

What about the book of L.K ADVANI where he praised Qaud-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah?? Was that an act of terrorism to be banned ?? OR dint he deserve the freedom of speech?

One should be allowed to speak freely on any topic no matter religious, political or historical.

If its garbage why bother reading it?

India has sheltered her as we've sheltered plenty of other refugees, including 10 million from your country in '71 and hundreds of thousands of Tibetans. You need see someone about your inferiority complex, there isn't some grand conspiracy against Muslims.

So much public property was destroyed for no reason, we're already poor, and here we have people burning down what little we have. They should arrest everyone involved in the riots and make them pay for the damage.

1) There are people who hear from their Gurus or Mullahs and come to street prrotesting without judging themselve. But you cant blame everyone for that. Can you????

2) You are among those mentioned in point 1. It is Yashwant Singh not Advani. His book is not banned, it is a bestseller. He was expelled from his party which has different opinion about Jinnah, not from Indian State. So you have no doubt that you too shout without being properly informed.

As a book lover I think Taslima a third grade author.

As a Muslim I think " Nobody can defame Islam, because Islam has its quality. People who dont have full faith on Islam get scared that Islam might be defamed"

First of all its not me who commented or religions, im talking of a matter that is purely of political nature.

Secondly,he wasnt actually slapped(physically) its just a spiced up term of a headline for an argument. that Mullah whatever he said was his personal thought or whatever, im not raising any question for why he said it or something, there is also an example where head of bombay's Aman Committee Declared for bombay attackers not to be buried in India which is good to show patriotism but in Islam it is required to bury the dead in any case, so such things from religional personalities can only be considered as of political nature.

Now that Asylum thing and artists, well Art has no boundries we also watch Indian movies, Indians watch Pakistani dramas and listen Pakistani songs, so do we watch ur dramas and listen to ur music, its all about business and also we share the same culture.

Last thing, there are Indians migrating in Pakistan too specially in Sindh province, and they come looking for earning a living and they are all normal people not any star having a fanship among locals.(im talking about recent times not 1947).

All I wanted was an answer for my question ,regarding L.K Adwani's book, pointing back on me or bringing religions or generals would go in vain.
