Our Family friends son's wedding was taking place, they came over from Bengaluru,since the girls was in Hyderabad,since they were not from the same city, so they asked my family to help them in Arranging for the Shopping,Marriage etc.
The Bride groom, got a job as IT consultant in Australia recently,His plan was to get married and take the wife with him to Australia in 10 days.
Everything went smooth, 2 months passed and there were complaints from the girl.
The girl was still in touch with her ex-Boyfriend, she used to Skype chat with him,even to the extent of discussing their first night details.
Which was caught by the Husband.When confronted she began, crying and complaining daily to her parents that he was troubling her.
She tried to drink some kitchen cleaning fluid,in Hospital my friend found out she was 4 months pregnant.They were married for only 2 months,She was bearing the child of her Ex-boyfriend.The same Ex-BF whom she parted ways with,because he was not settled in job and life. She agreed to marry My friend,since he was well settled and earning a very good salary.After marriage the Ex-BF wanted her to come back,since he was settled now.That is where the trouble began.
She put up Harassment cases against him in Australia,since they dont have gender biased laws there,my friend won the case as he showed proofs of CCTV and spy program installed in Laptop.
The girl again put up cases against his whole family and even my extended family members were named in Dowry Harassment case,The only thing my family did was to help them with arranging the Marriage function hall and Shopping of Dresses and Jewellery.
Even the high court judge found it funny that she named everyone who came to her marriage as guilty of 498a.
The whole family was jailed initially,even the two other brothers along with their wives were jailed,just because of 498a.
Although the case is nearing it's end.But its been 3 years and still every 2 -3 months the family has to come down to Hyderabad from Bengaluru and present themselves in court.They boy lost his job in Australia,his two younger brothers lost their jobs due to constant leaves taken for judicial matters.The case will soon be over this year and in meantime the family is doing good now.
What was funny is the Girls elder brother who put up the cases,he himself was a victim of False 498a cases put against him by his ex-wife.
She helped my friend with the case.
Looking at all these, i learnt a great deal.
