Oman asks Pak, India to improve relations

Dubai, Dec 27 (PTI) Oman today asked Pakistan and India to improve their relations as the fraternal ties between the two neighbours were in the region''s interest.

During a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Oman''s Sultan Qaboos bin Sa`id, at his Palace in Muscat, said the fraternal ties between India and Pakistan were in the region''s interest.

70-year-old Sultan, known as a founder of the modern Oman, also asked the two countries to resume composite dialogue, the APP reported.

The two leaders discussed regional situation and the measures taken by Pakistan to address its economic and security challenges in the wake of terrorism and extremism.

They also discussed a whole gamut of regional issues regarding Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq and Palestine.

We are grateful to Sultan Qaboos for his concerns! However he should keep the interests of Baluchistan in view where Indian back insurgency is going full swing.

Indeed so! Perhaps he should also keep Jammu & Kashmir, and the LeT, and the Afghani terror outfits in view as well!

Anyway, I've read about Sultan Qaboos, and if there's any experienced leader both India and Pakistan should take advice from, it's Qaboos. He's settled divides and tribal disputes in his country, Oman, flawlessly. In addition to modernizing Oman each step of the way...

Oman is a very good friend of India, we have very good defence co operations with them, along with Qatar with whom we have a defensew treaty
