Featured "OIC recognises that Jammu and Kashmir is the core dispute between Pakistan and India" - 47th Session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers

@El Sidd in your guess what' this U turn all about? I think OIC must have warned SMQ for misguiding the nation and the follow through propaganda on Urdu channels.
There is malicious propaganda against OIC in all neo conservative Ordu channels

USA-Saudia-UAE-Israel are working together form some sort of strike on Iran and they are just softening up Pakistan , with incentives

This is my hunch based on Weapon's sale in region and most recent Assassination of Iranian Nuclear scientist

  • Pakistan/Turkey should be Holding Executive Member Status as being the Only Islamic Nuclear Armed state

This is first time in decades that pdf have posted OIC statement on Kashmir. Otherwise, its a routine statement by OIC.
Good start non the less... perhaps some one realized he /she just can't simply keep lying about OIC for decades.
OIC Urges Again for Abstention from Changing the Demographic Composition of Jammu and Kashmir
In above line there's a word AGAIN and it's few months old and in history OIC has reiterated Pakistan's position on Kashmir issue, throughout its history and on regular basis.
In case you are misguided by people with vested interests, you can educate your selves here

Still don't think Kashmir will be free with statements,

Actually, the amount of money poor people of Pakistan spend on SMQ and Arif Alvi, we better buy armored vehicles for soldiers, which would prove more practical.
Patwar before I0C meeting.... Very shameful for pakistan that for the first time in the history of Pakistan kashmir is not included in IOC agenda
Patwar after IOC statement on kashmir....
Dont think kashmir will be free after this statement
Lanat kom patwar par

OIC has no value if Pakistan/Turkey are not on Executive Board with Veto Powers
Temporary drama bazi , chairman position is of no value

We can't have any Destabilization moves around Turkey or Pakistan , the policy should be Universal and Stern

If Foreign powers will come and destabilize region in our neighborhood someone has to cough up the bill for Economic losses

• Pakistan takes up visa ban issue with UAE
• CFM adopts Pakistan-sponsored resolution on Islamophobia
• Islamabad to host next CFM meeting
ISLAMABAD: Amid conflicting reports whether the Kashmir issue was on the agenda of an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s meeting in Niger, the foreign ministers of the OIC’s member states in a diplomatic victory for Pakistan unanimously reaffirmed support for the Kashmir cause.
In another landmark development, the OIC unanimously adopted a Pakistan-sponsored resolution urging the UN Secretary General to initiate a global dialogue to counter rising Islamophobia and promote interfaith harmony.
On the bilateral level, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who led Pakistan delegation at the 47th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Niamey, Niger, raised the issue of the ban on visas for Pakistanis recently imposed by the United Arab Emirates with the UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi.
According to details of the Niamey meeting released by Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Saturday, the CFM reaffirmed its strong support for the Kashmir cause. The OIC categorically rejected illegal and unilateral actions taken by India on Aug 5 last year to change the internationally recognised disputed status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and demanded India rescind its illegal steps.
It asked India to cancel the issuance of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris as well as other unilateral and illegal actions, including Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Order, 2020; Jammu & Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate Rules, 2020; Jammu and Kashmir Language, Bill 2020 and amendments to the landownership laws.
Also rejecting policies being pursued by the RSS-BJP regime, the 57 member countries of the OIC asked India to refrain from taking any steps to alter the demographic structure of the disputed territory.
The OIC foreign ministers condemned in the strongest possible terms human rights violations perpetrated by Indian occupation forces in held Kashmir and other such instances of terrorism that have been the source of unspeakable suffering for the innocent Kashmiri people.
The resolution condemned the state-sponsored terrorism and crimes against humanity by Indian occupation forces against the Kashmiri people.
It denounced extrajudicial killings during fake ‘encounters’ and ‘search-and-cordon’ operations and demolition of houses and private properties as a form of collective punishment;.
The unanimous resolution condemned the renewed use of pellet guns by Indian occupation forces against innocent civilians, condemned the harassment of Kashmiri women by Indian troops and deplored that India had callously exploited the current Covid-19 crisis to intensify its military crackdown and further advance its unlawful occupation.
The conference welcomed the visit of OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from March 2-6, 2020.
India was asked to adhere to its international human rights obligations and allow the OIC Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir and the OIC Fact-finding Mission to visit occupied Kashmir and implement recommendations of the two reports of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on Jammu & Kashmir.
The OIC asked the international community to review its engagements with India as it was violating and disregarding the international law, the international humanitarian law, and international resolutions.
It emphasised that the question of Kashmir was of utmost importance for the Ummah.
The OIC recognised that Jammu and Kashmir is the core dispute between Pakistan and India, and its resolution indispensable for realisation of the dream of peace in South Asia.
The CFM noted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are the principal party to the dispute, and stressed that they should be included in any peace process for resolution of the dispute.
It affirmed that any political or electoral process held under foreign occupation cannot be a substitute to the exercise of the right to self-determination.
Tabled during the 47th session of the CFM, a separate resolution was drafted in the context of growing incidents of Islamophobia in various parts of the world.
The resolution expressed concern that Islamophobia, as a contemporary form of racism and religious discrimination, was on the rise. It expressed deep concern at the recent incidents of desecration of the Holy Quran and reprinting of blasphemous caricatures which hurt sentiments of more than 1.8 billion Muslims around the world.
The OIC decided to designate March 15 as the “International Day to Combat Islamophobia” each year. It authorised the OIC Permanent Missions in New York to jointly table a resolution in the UN General Assembly, calling for establishment of this day.
The resolution urged the OIC member states to organise and support various high-visibility events aimed at effectively increasing awareness at all levels about curbing Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hatred.
Speaking on the session, Foreign Qureshi said that adoption of the resolution was a reflection of the sentiments of billions of Muslims who respected other religions and expected similar respect for Islam and the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Meanwhile, positively responding to Pakistan’s offer, the CFM meeting decided to host its 48th session in Islamabad in 2021.
As the prospective CFM Chair, Pakistan also became a member of the six-member OIC Executive Committee for the next three years.
Meetings with FMs
Foreign Minister Qureshi in his meeting with United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State Reem Al Hashimi raised the issue of the ban imposed by the Arab country on Pakistanis.
Mr Qureshi, who spent a busy day in Niamey, holding meetings with foreign ministers of some countries, apprised Ms Hashimi of difficulties being faced by Pakistani citizens with regard to the UAE’s ban on visas.
Pakistan is among 13 Muslim majority countries facing the ban on new employment and visit visas recently placed by the UAE.
Interestingly, India is not included in these countries, and the visa on arrival facility is still available for European countries making it clear that the ban has little to do with the coronavirus.
Mr Qureshi underscored the need to address the issue at the earliest possible.
He highlighted the close fraternal ties as well as people-to-people contacts between the two countries and stressed Pakistan’s commitment to forge closer cooperation with the UAE in diverse fields.
While appreciating Mr Qureshi’s statement at the CFM session, the Emirati minister lauded Pakistan’s initiative to propose an OIC resolution on combating Islamophobia.
The two sides also exchanged views on OIC matters and stressed the importance of strengthening it as a united and pivotal platform for the Ummah.
It was also agreed to enhance mutual exchanges to carry forward the process of growing bilateral cooperation.
Mr Qureshi also held meetings with Foreign Minister Kalla Ankouraou of Niger, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Somalia Balal Mohamed Osman, Sudanese Foreign Minister Omar Qamaruddin Ismail and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Dr Ahmad Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah.

When Shah Mehmood spoke, it was the state speaking, or he would've been removed by now.

I would have thought that but remember last time shah mehmood did something similar and was removed. An FM moot of OIC have limited effect and damaging relations for it was stupid of both OIC and Pakistan.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has unanimously adopted a resolution condemning India’s illegal action of revoking Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s (IIOJK) autonomous status and steps to change the demography of the Muslim-majority region.

“In a Resolution adopted unanimously by the 47th Session of the OIC in Niamey today, the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) reaffirmed its strong support for the Kashmir cause,” read a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Saturday night.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who reached Niamey on Thursday, represented Pakistan at the 47th session of the OIC CFM.

The OIC in its resolution categorically rejected illegal and unilateral actions taken by the Indian government in occupied territory since August 5, 2019.

“The [OIC] Resolution demands that India cancel the issuance of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris as well as other unilateral and illegal actions, including ‘Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Order 2020’, ‘Jammu & Kashmir Grant of Domicile Certificate Rules 2020’, ‘Jammu and Kashmir Language Bill 2020’ and amendments to the landownership laws,” said the FO statement.

Rejecting policies being pursued by the ruling RSS-BJP regime, the 57 countries of the OIC asked India to refrain from taking any steps to alter the existing demographic structure of the disputed territory.

According to the FO communiqué, the OIC in a comprehensive and strongly worded resolution rejected the illegal and unilateral actions taken by India in August last year to change the internationally recognised disputed status of the IIOJK and demanded it to rescind its illegal steps.

The world’s largest Muslim organisation demanded Narendra Modi-led government to cancel the issuance of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris and revoke all unilateral and illegal actions it has taken in IIOJK since August 5, 2019, while refraining from taking any step to alter the existing demographic structure of the disputed territory.

The OIC also condemned “in the strongest possible terms” human rights violations perpetrated by Indian occupation forces in the occupied territory and other such instances of Indian terrorism that have been the source of unspeakable suffering for the innocent Kashmiri people, said the communiqué.

It also deplored the state-sponsored terrorism and crimes against humanity by Indian occupation forces against people of IIOJK.

The alliance of Muslim countries censured extra-judicial killings during fake ‘encounters’ and ‘search-and-cordon’ operations and demolition of homes and private properties “as a form of collective punishment.”

It denounced the renewed use of pellet guns by the Indian occupation forces against innocent civilians and condemned the harassment of Kashmiri women by the Indian troops.

The OIC deplored that India has callously exploited the current Covid-19 pandemic to intensify its military crackdown and further advance its unlawful occupation in IIOJK.

The resolution also welcomed the upcoming visit of OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from March 2-6, 2020.

It also reaffirmed the sentiments expressed in the unanimously adopted Communiqués of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir in its Ministerial meetings held on 25 September 2019 and 22 June 2020.

The foreign ministers of Muslims countries urged India to adhere to its international human rights obligations and allow the OIC special representative on Jammu and Kashmir and the OIC Fact-finding Mission to visit IIOJK.

It also “strongly” urged India to implement recommendations of the two Reports of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on Jammu and Kashmir and called upon international community to review their engagements with India, the occupying power, as it is violating and disregarding the international law, the international humanitarian law, and international resolutions.

The OIC emphasised that the question of Kashmir is of utmost importance for the Muslim Ummah and recognised that Jammu and Kashmir is the core dispute between Pakistan and India, and its resolution indispensable for realisation of the dream of peace in South Asia.

The official statement said OIC summit also acknowledged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are the principal party to the dispute, and they should be included in any peace process for resolution of the dispute.

Any political process/elections held under foreign occupation cannot be a substitute to the exercise of the right of self-determination, the resolution said while noting that Kashmir dispute is an unresolved question of granting the right to self-determination to the people of occupied valley that has been on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council for over seven decades now.

Fundamental right enshrined in the UNSC resolutions that the final disposition of the State of Jammu and Kashmir will be made in accordance with the will of the people, expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite, conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, it reaffirmed.

The OIC has decided to further consider the Jammu and Kashmir dispute at the 48th session of the CFM in Islamabad.

The 57-member OIC has been a consistent and vocal supporter of the Kashmir cause, and adoption of this resolution was a reaffirmation of the principled stance always taken by the OIC on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, said the FO in a statement.

Modi land can however try not to believe and keep asking for OIC source or whatever.
Muslim bloc OIC reaffirms 'unequivocal' support for Kashmir

The 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation asks India to refrain from altering the demographic structure of India-administered Kashmir that India unilaterally annexed last August, Pakistani foreign office says.

OIC is the world's second-largest inter-governmental organisation after the UN, with 57 member states spread across four continents.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has reiterated its "strong and unequivocal support" for disputed Kashmir in a resolution adopted unanimously in the Muslim bloc's gathering in Niger, Pakistan said.
Representatives of 57-member states attended the two-day meeting that ended on Saturday during which OIC discussed issues confronting the Muslim world.

The situation in India-administered Kashmir was one of the session's main points of focus with OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers reaffirming strong support for Kashmiris struggling for the region's right to self-determination.
"The OIC categorically rejected illegal and unilateral actions taken by India since 5 August 2019," the Pakistani foreign office said in a statement, adding the resolution demanded that India "cancel the issuance of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris" as well as other unilateral and illegal actions there.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi represented Pakistan at the 47th session of the OIC in Niamey.

Established in 1969, the OIC is the world's second-largest inter-governmental organisation after the UN, with 57 member states spread across four continents.

Pakistan is one of its founding members.
The OIC has previously condemned human rights violations in Kashmir, its annexation by India, and the newly-introduced domicile laws that allow non-Kashmiris to take jobs and buy properties in the disputed Himalayan territory.

But it has never deterred India from carrying out its actions in the region.
India maintains the group has no locus standi on Kashmir and often rejects its statements.

Oldest dispute on UN agenda
Kashmir, divided by a highly militarised de facto border, is claimed by both Pakistan and India who rule it in parts. In 1947, both countries gained independence from Britain. India immediately took the dispute to the UN which called for a plebiscite in the region in multiple resolutions.
Rebel groups in India-administered Kashmir have fought for decades for the region's independence or a possible merger with Pakistan. They enjoy popular support.

Since 1989, the fighting has left tens of thousands dead, a number mostly made up of civilians. India has stationed more than 500,000 troops in the region.

Tensions soared again between the two nations last August when the Indian government revoked Muslim-majority Kashmir's decades-old semi-autonomous status and annexed it. This caused anger inside Kashmir as well as in Pakistan.

The OIC and Pakistan want the changes reversed. Kashmiris say India is enacting a demographic change in the region by settling Hindu outsiders.

OIC asks countries to evaluate ties with India
In Saturday's resolution, the OIC urged the international community to evaluate their ties with India and include the people of Kashmir in any peace process talks.

OIC emphasised that the territorial dispute, specifically "granting the right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir" has remained unresolved on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council for over seven decades.

Other items on the OIC agenda included the Palestinian cause, Islamophobia, the plight of Muslim minorities and communities in non-member states, and fundraising for the Rohingya case at the International Court of Justice.

The member states also decided to hold further talks on the Kashmir dispute in OIC's foreign minister's session in Islamabad next year.

You, there a tons of Countries, which are a part of OIC, but could not or can not help us in any way, I suggest building something like NATO between Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Palestine, and Iran. And Pakistan in joint co-operation makes bases like US in these countries, and put its nuclear assets there, and Iran backs off the Nuclear Production, and both Tehran and Baku economically support Pakistan and Turkey while Pakistan and Turkey from all sides push upon Tel Aviv. Its a no brainer why do not we try this!
Most Importantly, the entire trade from the east to the west will be in our hands, we will have the world in our palms, we should invest in UAV's with AI and Naval Assets.
If we can make this Alliance, add the Nuclear Sauce and then ask, put the navies in place, everyone will fall in line for us,
The Geographical Location of Indian Ocean and Istanbul and the Persian Gulf would mean dominance, if we could do it, the Portuguese, had the ottomans support the State of Gujarat as the Spice Trade was stopped, they had done just the same, captured a port in Yemen, and Iran and in India stopping the Spice Trade, you get the Idea, has been done once already in history.

OIC should be officially declared organization of zionist cooperation.

the zionist arabs should be abandoned, meaning pakistan and non arab countries get out of this zionist org.

Pardon my scepticism.

"The OIC categorically rejected illegal and unilateral actions taken by India since 5 August 2019," the Pakistani foreign office said in a statement, adding the resolution demanded that India "cancel the issuance of domicile certificates to non-Kashmiris" "

I would be shocked if OIC said this.

I doubt it very much. In any case, it's too little too late. It's mere lip service to be brushed off by Delhi.

Pakistanis would be very stupid indeed to regard this as any substantive or meaningful statement. It carries no weight or threat of enforcement whatsoever.

Pray tell...Will OIC members invoke any sanctions against Delhi should they disregard such demands??

Pakistanis need to demand actual tangible action to force Delhi to leave Kashmiris alone, not mere words of comfort while Hindustanis bobble along on their merry way and get showered with medals by corrupt Arab rulers.
