I would prefer FN SCAR H, but the CZ BREN 805A2 looks promising. It's modular, so one - with minor modifications - can configure the rifle for 5.56mm or 7.62mm.

I met a SSG officer 2 days back .. The guy seemed clueless about the bolt action... According to him no rifle was sent to SSG for trials... The PK-08 rifle according to him was an epic fail ...

Trails were conducted for regular troops not SSG, shooter in question and the designer of the weapon is a shooting enthusiast and has been using it in various Long Range shooting competition held across country, the weapon participated in recently held 800m range competition in Jhelum too ---- so as i said, idk what is going in the head of Weapon trails ----- you have an excellent piece, build in house and yet still not adopted ---- i was expecting this rifle to replace Steyr rifles ---

Some information I was able to find on the CZ 805 BREN A1/A2. It seems like this company can easily develop a 7.62x51mm battle rifle if given the incentive (i.e. a possible export). In fact, it seems this company can modularize the 805 BREN much in the same way FN has the SCAR, i.e. into different variants: 'heavy' (7.62x51), 'light' (5.56), 'assault' (7.62x39), PDW, light sniper/DMG, etc. @Horus

Today the assault rifle exists in caliber 5.56x45mm and we are about to finish the development of the caliber 7.62x39mm. In the following period we would like to dedicate to the development of the caliber 7.62x51mm which is another standard caliber of NATO. Indeed, there is a small step to employ this caliber in the prospective development of a machine gun.

Originally, two versions were planned to be developed: first version employed the calibers 5.56x45mm NATO 7.62x39mm or 6.8x43mm SPC Rem., the second version was supposed to shoot cartridges in caliber 7.62x51mm NATO or .300 WSM. Having considered all pros and cons, the company decided – at least for the time being– to focus on the first version. From the very beginning the designers had assumed that the interchangeable magazine wells should enable to use virtually all the most commonly used magazines of these calibers.

The CZ 805 BREN rifles are characteristic for their high modularity enabling to transform them into various configurations and for their unique and simple system of exchange of the caliber used. The most elaborated version is the one in caliber 5.56x45mm NATO which exists in three modifications: the assault or automatic rifle (CZ 805 BREN A1), the rifle with a shortened barrel or so called carbine (CZ805 BREN A2)and the light automatic sniper rifle with an extended barrel (CZ 805 BREN A3). Virtually, it is possible to transform the weapon into a light machine gun.

In regards of the 7.62x51mm NATO caliber, or an assault rifle designed for shooting at longer distances respectively, we are seriously considering this issue.

If anything, CZ has full rights over re-exporting the entire BREN rifle catalogue, including technology transfer, IP and commercial rights to POF. FN might need to work on pulling a few strings and finding workarounds since the SCAR was developed with U.S. input. It is doable for FN, but it'll probably end up costing Pakistan more compared to CZ.

That said, FN has a working battle rifle, i.e. SCAR H. If CZ wants to firmly win over PA, it would need to actually have the battle rifle variant of the BREN 805 (i.e. BREN B1 or B2) ready for testing. In this case you're completely dealing with an unproven weapon. On the other hand, CZ might be more flexible in terms of ToT and commercial licensing to POF, especially since they're basically asking PA to test their unproven rifle in combat.

the 5.56 calibre Bren has been around for quite a while,
it can be a handsome replacement for the smaller AK's we get to see with our soldiers.

Yes the 7.62 version that'll actually replace G3 would be unproven since its not officially ready yet but once completed it can be Tweaked according to specs of Pak Armed Forces by POF right?

This video to complement what you said in the context of a "comaprison" with SCAR rifle. there are some things CZ805 can do that SCAR cannot and that in modularity between calibers!

No its a Military weapon also available for civilians as well.

The CZ 805 BREN-line isn't as good as it could be, but the 806 BREN 2 is apparently a different story, vastly improved. But I reiterate, the PA needs to get CZ to quickly push out 7.62x51 ('heavy') and 7.62x39 versions of the BREN 2. If available and put into testing, they may give the SCAR H some competition.
