OFFICAL IAF STATMENT ISSUED TODAY (08/04/2013):

"Apropos a report in a certain section of the media indicating IAF will opt for Sukhoi-30 if Rafale deal falls flat as on 08 Apr 2013. The IAF strongly denies such report. The CNC (Contract negotiations committee) process for acquisition of 126 MMRCA is underway and there is no thought process for any procurement as a ‘back up’ as reported."

Another MMRCA thread?

. . . . . . .
Are they saying today is the deadline for CNC?

No, this was the IAF replying to a specific factual report saying the IAF was lining up more MKIs if/when the MMRCA deal fell through. However they have rubbished most of the BS going around right now with 1 stone- negotiations are ongoing (not abandoned as certain members have claimed) , no other alternatives (MKI or EFT) are being considered.

Things are moving ahead, END OF STORY.

MMRCA or NOT, I strongly believe IAF will indeed go for 300+ sukhois, they simply just love those Birds.

Indeed, but this is entirely separate and completely unrelated to the MMRCA deal as certain fools have claimed.
