What's new

Oct 11, 2021: Tesla officially starts its ‘wider release’ of Full Self-Driving Beta in the US

They have so much confidence in their technology and sensors that they don't trust them , quite funny.

Now Nio has to implement tests.

The Tesla strategy is extremely difficult however it will eliminate many of the cost issues. The only sensors are cameras which have no moving parts. There is no pre-mapping requirement so it can work in any country where basic Garmin type quality road maps are available.

I did a test drive recently and was quite impressed BUT a million dollar question, Price my friend the price, Can I justify the upfront cost?
Also you will need to replace the battery.
Recently I read an article of an 8 year old tesla requiring a new batter. Cost 23000 US dollars. The owner chose to blow the car up with dynamite.
Right now in the UK the electric vehicle infrastructure isn't there. The range of the electric vehicles is poor and battery charge times are not up to par if you are in a hurry.

There are some amazing long life battery projects out there but until they come to fruition I will stick to my diesel medcedes GLE 3 litre.

Astronauts already have to wear those you moron. What if you have to go while you are in the middle of launching or landing? You going to unbuckle and get up or something?
You open the window and take a shit. Simple. 8-)

Same here, for now cannot justify the cost it's more than twice the combustion engine. Until battery life gets better with double the mileage and gas-like infra in place I am happy with gas.

I would expect this is going to be addressed or we are going to see a flood of bad PR stories from Tesla owners saying their cars are basically bricked. The Model S was released in 2012 (9 years ago) and the Model 3 in 2017 ( 4 years ago).
