And Salman Rushdie is qualified enough to comment on diplomacy ??

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I find it funny that all and sundry whoever is a celebrity these days feels qualified enough to pass public statements on politics or international affairs as if its the normal thing to do. The likes of Arundhati Roy (that one book wonder celebrity), Naipaul etc or even people like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton! What is this world coming to?

.
This guy has zero credibility and half of the Pakistan would want to kill him for his writings against Islam and the last Prophet of Islam SAWW. Its funny to see him worried about Pakistan.

.
Dont blame us  ..he is British of Indian orgin ..not an Indian citizen :D

really? he acts and calls himself American when he goeis on American shows.

He is not Indian, or Birish, or American. He is just a lota looking for the next bum to clean.

Actually, a lot of his books have to do with India-Pakistan. Haroun and the Sea of Stories is one of his most under-rated and best works on the issue.

.
And India is not obsessed about Pakistan?

Every other article in an indian news website is on Pakistan.

I wonder what indian muslims think about this guy, where's that EjazR who claims to be indian muslim and is so quick to criticize Pakistan, but thinks his india is perfect.

At least from what I see, indian government is semi-obsessed, and indian public fully obsessed with Pakistan. I just don't see this on the internet only (although the internet makes it pretty obvious how heavily obsessed the indian public is), but also in the outside world.

From what I have read, he dwells on insults and inuendo, and to make money by lies and exegerates 100% in all of his writings.

He is not worthy of title writer, but a dude with a brain full of hatred for Islam and that my friend is not a writer, but a man who sold his soul to devil to make money and name.

Writer are Like Dr. sir mohammed Iqbal. Maulanan shibli, Maulana Rumi, Shakespear, Plato, Aristotle, charles dickens and of coarse. George Bernard shaw to mention few of real brilliant writers.

And my favorite. Bathoven.

Karan You should be utterly ashamed.I know that Hindus don't like Muslims and will use every opportunity to humiliate them.

But Still there is something called Morality.Don't you even cared a little about what would happen to the heart of a muslim when you post threads based on these type of People.

This has nothing to do with Religion.. See the title..Where does morality come into this??

btw.. my closest friend is a Muslim so dont sermonize me about hinds not liking muslims..

This might be digressing from the topic but my three week trip to India was highly mind opening and I can easily say that the Indian press is as much obsessed (if not more) with Pakistan as our media is obsessed with India.

The quality of worthy news in the English newspapers in India was far less. Even The Hindu and The Hindustan Times were focused so much towards entertainment news that they seemed like tabloids to me. In Pakistani newspapers, India related news (RAW, Indian politics) is either on our front/back page, opinion or world news page.

The world news section in Indian newspapers seemed smaller in its scope to me at least. I might have got the wrong impression but I was expecting a much bigger and wider focus on International politics, India being a bigger nation with much larger international implications. Pakistan related news were mostly stupid "Dawood Ibrahim looses support among Pakistani generals", "Dawood Ibrahim leaves Karachi for Dubai" stuff. I expected more from the Indian press in this regard.

Nonetheless, all the English newspapers I read seemed to have a direct connect with the wishes of the masses and a focus towards social welfare. This is obviously a direct consequence of the wide reader base (ours being focused on upper middle class and bourgeois class "English speaking" people).

So called elite members are found trolling?? :tsk:

You have every right to counter Rushdie's view. However India is not matter of debate here. Thanks.

Sir, You are partially correct IMO. India gives space to Pakistani news. But only that much which is relevant to India. That's why you see news about Dawood, Hafiz etc. Rest all are excluded which has no direct relation with India.

The point of "worthy news" is debatable here. And I know The Hindu does not focus on entertainment news. I do not know why you get the impression. However ToI does it.

I can not understand smaller thing unfortunately. Since we have separate military, economic news papers as well. This might be well a reason for smaller corresponding sections.
India gives all news which is relevant to us. And it is not Pakistan specific. In The Hindu, India-Russia talk was main news.

Nonetheless, all the English newspapers I read seemed to have a direct connect with the wishes of the masses and a focus towards social welfare. This is obviously a direct consequence of the wide reader base (ours being focused on upper middle class and bourgeois class "English speaking" people).

Newspapers are first to pick on any country related news. We are actually hell one of selfish. :D
